Stay classy, Team Liquid

Can link a single game where mvp played better then that vs an opponent who was playing as well as life was playing?

That's pretty objective right there; find a Mvp TvZ on Entombed where he focuses on drops/Ghosts? I don't think such a game exists.

I don't think a game exists of mvp playing tvz on any map using any style with more skill displayed then in that game.

That is my opinion though

That's veeeery objective. I got a bit of MMA deja vu, though.

MVP never did that.

But MVP is the first guy who pioneered mass ghost in TvZ late game.

After that game against July,Korean ladder was filled with late game TvZ mass ghosts+siege tanks+ vikings with some planetary support.

IIRC, his mass Ghosts were on top of Mech, not Bio, though. But yeah, pretty much what you said.

IdrA's been screaming that Terrans should be using ghosts in the late game, and I'm starting to think he's right.

Idra doesn't play Terran and he thinks Marines can counter banelings.

They do when you split them. Off creep.

Not everyone can split like MKP.

Taeja,MVP,Bogus,Polt,Bomber,etc.

Only Polt comes even close to MKP, Bomber and Mvp are quite subpar at splitting, Mvp used to be quite good but not anymore.Taeja just replenishes everything, lol.

Tankless, vikingless terran? I don't really remember seeing that all too much.

maybe not completely vikingless because back then zergs didn't overmake corruptors just to counter vikings since snipe was good but Mvp popularized this late game style last year some time in june/july I think. maybe a bit later than that.

Bogus is very good at splitting as well.

Polt, MKP, Bogus are the best three I've seen.

MVP's bio micro at his pre-injured peak is one of those forever underrated aspects of his play

Not really. Life played very poorly for his standards. He had a bad opening that was directly countered, never took map control, responded late to almost every single drop, overmade corruptors, did not scout his opponent's base with overseers or changelings, was constantly caught out of position by the ghosts, and forgot to get baneling speed.

I only caught about 6 minutes onward (that shouldn't matter, but it could have swayed my opinion). Perhaps I was just enamored by Gumiho's multitasking and tactical decisions to oversee Life's flaws. The infestors to defend and BLs to attack seemed weird. Would definitely like to see it against someone who responds better.

We technically did. Polt did the same build and play against Sniper in GSTL yesterday. But Sniper just went mutas and crushed it before the game ever got off the ground.

Well, dammit then. I didn't see the matches yesterday, but was hoping for a change in the meta D: Too bad.

MKP never really made mass ghosts and dropped like that. Not in TVZ at least.

he's going to become that boring best player in the world guy, then a year from now when zerg is doing really poorly he's going to cheese his way to a GSL title, fans will rally behind him as the underdog saving their race.

I think I've seen this movie.

It's not just the compositions, positionally the two play out completely differently as well. MVP's lategame once he secured infrastucture was more defensive than Gumiho's constant multipronged aggression and drops. Literally the only similarities I see are that ghosts were made, which is always nice
