Vortix started off with a quick pool to force a cancel on Lucifron's early command center, but otherwise the game played out into a fairly typical scenario with Vortix taking three bases while Lucifron went for hellion banshee. Lucifron's banshees ended up diong a decent amount of damage, setting him up very well in the mid-game to do a massive mech push. However, Vortix played well with roaches and infestors to hold off Lucifron's attack, and the game developed into a half map split with giant armies being massed on either side. While VortiX's ultralisk and brood lord tech threatened to put on a horror show, Lucifron kept things square with his trademark hellion harass. Keeping the Zerg's economy low allowed him to outspend the more cost efficient Zerg units, and he powered through to take game one after a huge battle against brood lords and ultralisks. | ||

Creator red Protoss spawns bottom left, Illusion spawns blue Terran top right. Illusion opens with a 2rax build while Creator goes for Gate-Core expand. Creator goes up to 3 gates and expands, and the 2rax does a bit of damage. Illusion techs up and expands. Illusion tries to keep the pressure up but the second time doesn't work out well. Creator gets a pretty fast 3rd. Game gets pretty standard from hereon, with both teching up. Illusion gets supply blocked for like a full minute, allowing Creator to finish his upgrades. A small skirmish near Creator's third has both trade pretty evenly. Illusion has really late Vikings and Creator moves out with 2/2. Creator steamrolls Illusion at his base, standard Creator game. 2-0 for Creator! | ||
