God, this chess comparison... :D A pretty much equivalent question is if a professional table-tennis player would have an advantage in becoming a professional football player. And no, developing build orders would definitely not get a nice boost :D.

When you win the world cup at football, you can lose your next 10 matches, you will still be n1 in the world, because you won something called " tournament for the n1 rank spot of the world", why does it have to be so much different for sc2?
The thing is called WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL after all.. because we actually like to evalute players' skill and predict future matches rather than just buy into the marketing BS of the tournament?

Eventhough this is the world championship but the person who win it doesn't have to be the best player overall.
Clearly the best player overall is Flash. In this gsme ofc. Otherwise the best player overall would be Kasparov. Honestly I would love to see what a very high ranking chess player (not necessarily top 20 in the world) can do in Brood War provided that he trains 8 hrs a day and gets his mechanics really strong. Too bad that is infinitely less feasible now with the Korean Pro scene dying. ;_; They could not do anything because they are too old for that. Hands too slow. Three of the top 10 rated players in the world are 22 or younger. you know who would be better at SC2 than a top 10 chess player? a top 10 SC2 player How surprising. The question is, whether it is easier to become a good SC2 player, due having the tactical and strategical strengh, you gain through being a top chess player. The strategy aspect of SC2 (dunno about BW) is highly overestimated so yeah really, being a good chess player won't help you much. I specifically mentioned Brood War exactly because of this. 1A-ing not really an interesting concept for a chess player to understand, with regards to SC2. And I'll stop here hehe Well if BW is figured out chess won't help either. And I guess a chess player would not want to play a game with 3 races because of the balance problems which comes with it.

I feel sad since the production team doesn't know what a proper foreign stream looks like, if you are here in person, you will be amazed by how awesome the venue and production is.

Creator is in the lead but also has a few less probes. And over time this will balance out the disadvantage Parting currently has.

This is nothing like blizzcon man...

Creator switching over to immortal production, good job

Chess itself won't help you strategically in anything other than chess. The closest thing you could say is that they maybe could have potential do to being naturally strategically minded.

Since I didn't play nor follow BW I don't hate him for what he did, unfortunately he is banned everywhere.
