Life won Code S and MLG and 2nd place TSL4 Rain won OSL, 3rd in WCS Korea, 1st WCS Asia, 3rd/4th in BWC, 3rd/4th in Code S MVP wins pretty much everything else no stable champions my ass, people often claim that the same guys winning all the money is preventing rising talent What people really want is another bonjwa. It seems as if the scene is starved for one. I wonder if it will ever happen. It will definitely be a good thing if it does though.. It won't be possible for a bonjwa to rise in the scene as it is now. Unless you manage to support the entire pro scene to fly around to every single tournament around, there will always be so and so won this other big tournament when one person is dominating somewhere. That doesn't matter. If someone consistently wins/places very high in top tournaments like GSL and MLG, it doesn't matter if someone else is winning some other tournament occasionally. Nope. A bonjwa will be judged by how he crush his competition. How will you do that when a large portion of the supposed competition is elsewhere in the world? Just remember this would be impossible even in BW then if BW had as many tournaments as SC2 did. People seem to forget that while there were dominant players in BW (jaedong/flash/nada/etc), they played in "only" 2 tournaments MSL/OSL and didn't have to travel and they had a week minimum to prepare for their opponents. In sc2 most tournaments (excluding gsl/osl) are done in a weekend.

SC1 is just such a small society that makes bonjwa possible. community like SC2 is so big that no one can dominate like SC1, not now, not ever. We will only have consistent good player, like MVP in the past years, this will be the closest thing to a bonjwa Koreans are the best in the world. More Koreans played Brood War. Foreigners don't come into the equation that much. What you say makes no sense. Agreed. The same players (for the most part, minus a few new comers) that are top in everything are the same people that played BW competitively before. Only difference there isn't Flash owning everything up... yet.

Sadly David Kim said that was fine because it was "asymmetric". Bad excuse because that type of gameplay is bad (even Artosis and Idra agreed on their "Imbalanced" show). When was the most recent "imbalance" episode?

I thought all weekend tournaments are run over 3 days. Like half way through the year dreamhack/wcs events changed to 2 days... lol Has pros and cons. Today i felt the cons very much. Even one semi finals wasn't highlighted at all. Was only on a side stream without any pictures of the players. Also following 4 streams was pretty hard, but doable if you don't care about every match.

I think that feature alone will make the metagame evolve 10x faster than it is now.
