Grubby went for an immortal-sentry all in, but his force-fields didn't have enough soul in them, and he couldn't crush Killer's army. On the other end, he allowed Killer to backdoor his base for terrible, terrible damage. Grubby tried to play it out, but it was like a boxer trying to finish a match with two amputated arms.

11 foreigners vs 5 koreans. 2 korean down. Think it is a good chance for a foreigner to reach semis.

This has been a tournament of upsets, and I wonder whether it is due to the fan favorites attending tournament after tournament, while the underdogs are practicing their arses off in the background.

Well, to summarize it a little bit. What a hell of upsets we've seen. From Curious losing to Titan, to Stephano going out against HerO (yes folks, that's an upset!). Creator and Parting were the only favorites to go through comfortably and unscratched (the 1game Nerchio took off Creator is really no big deal) and this might make them the huge favorites for tomorrow, while I could totally see Parting go out to Scarlett. BUT Curious and Rain are still around and with HerO beating his upcoming Nemesis Stephano noone might say what he'll be capable of doing.
Roro and herO could not keep it up in their first real international test (since WCS Asia was more of a Korean + 2nd class tournament). We saw some really unsual play from both Europeans and North Americans that may have caused this to happen.
My money would lie completely on Creator now. His bracket is really doable up to the Semis. And with all that momentum he gained lately, he should be confindent enough to defeat Rain there, who will most likely be waiting.

Region distribution:
EU: 5 (1 Belarus, 2 Spain, 1 Denmark, 1 Russia)
KR: 5
NA: 4 (3 US, 1 Canada)
TW: 1
SA: 1

SEA: 0
China: 0

IT is possible for semifinals to be 100% korean or european but not north american (or even pan-american)

Without both Nerchio and Stephano, I predict a full Korean Top 4

Scarlett is still a hope. She can beat Parting it isn't out of the realm of possibility, and if she can do that she just has to beat either Suppy or Killer in a ZvZ (which looks like her strongest match up atm) to put a foreigner in the top 4.

Sadly, I just don't think that Suppy or Killer are good enough to beat Parting if he manages to get past Scarlett, so all foreign hopes for a top 4 finish really relies on her getting past Parting tomorrow.

There's also the longshot that Idra manages to get past Rain, but I find that INCREDIBLY unlikely.

Whoever wins between Lucifron and Vortix will have to go against Creator unless Illusion can miraculously pull the biggest upset in SC2 history to take him down.

In the end, I agree I think a Korean (Protoss) top 4 is likely at this point, which is what I was expecting from the very beginning.

Parting can also review the games from Scarlett and design a few nice counter/timing - builds. I am really looking forward to IdrA vs Rain - that series got some potential.

Quite a few upsets today. But when you look at who made it through (regardless of 1st or 2nd), not THAT many surprises. Idra since he was in group of death. Titan since there were 2 Koreans in his group. But other than that, not much else.

I'm sad about the results of today. The two best foreigners and the most loved SC2 player out. It's painful.

OMFG If you would have given me these group results as fact I would have told you you were crazy. LMFAO IdrA has to be so pissed at BabyK <3 Wow, so many great storylines so far in the tournament. I'm sure many people predicted a PartinG Scarlett bout in RO16. Lucifron Vortix >< Damn shame it's happening this fast. BabyKnight HerO should be a good series. And Rain Idra...we haven't seen his ZvP yet so I'll guess a quick 3-0 sweep

Parting is not the guy that tries to counter specific styles of his opponents. He kinda allways does the same with a very very high level execution. And his PvZ really looked uninspired and a bit helpless once his "WonWonWon" was figured out by Sniper.

I'd say Scarlett is quickly rushing up the ladder of top foreigners with the way she's been playing.

To say that Nerchio is the second best foreigner in the world right now I think is a little debateable. (Especially considering how badly Scarlett just beat him, team kill or no.)

That Stephano fell was simply due to HerO's last minute brilliance which is still an epic story.
