It's just that a very young person learns very quickly, and usually can practice a ton, and therefore quickly rises to the top. But take a mediocre 15 year old sc2 pro and have him practice diligently until he's 20. Then you'll have an sc2 beast. That's true, but I just meant that it's possible for a 15 year old player to be the best in SC2, whereas with chess the peak comes later as you gain more experience. With SC2, if you're good at age 15, you won't improve as much as compared to chess. Life and Leenock are two examples of players that have been on an equal footing with the other pros for two years now and had a lot of potential which now comes to the forefront.

Like I said before, 15-17 is the perfect age to be hitting your stride. It applied to every RTS I ever played. What I find more impressive is players who have only been playing for a very short-time and they excel right away. Things like BaBy getting picked up at the age of 12: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=132831

I'll try to make my humor more obvious for people without any sense of humor. I try sometimes, but its hard to help out people who won't help themselves (read my other posts I'm generally joke posting unless I'm hushing insane fanboys of all kinds).
