Surprised Polt is looking to play standard here.

Either he's going to do a 3+ Medivac drop or he just thinks Finale sucks.
Did you ever say Yes to a single joy?

Well, imagine this: TaeJa woke up this morning, having terrible diarrhea. He felt really sick, and he thought he might be coming down with the flu. He goes to the studio, has to play his round of 32 group. He plays terribly, loses twice in a row, and falls to code A.

Does that make him suddenly a bad player? A single bad day, and you can fall out of Code S. It can happen to anyone, and it doens't even have ot be something as drastic as being sick. You could be unlucky, you could have slept badly, anything. So it's not deserved to say TaeJa is a bad player all of a sudden.

The point was he is continually hyped as being the best terran. And he lost terribly in both of his matches, sure everyone has bad days, but you're expected to perform a tiny bit better than 0-2 against players you should beat/have beaten in the past.

Right on the hype, but keep in mind that back in 2011, Mvp fell to Code A right after a GSL championship... The gap is smaller from QFs to Code A...

The true test of Taeja is to see how he bounces back, if he comes back to win a GSL next year then we can say all along the hype was deserved and he will go on to become one of the legends ( hopefully )

One GSL? Nah, he'd have to win like 4 to justify the hype.

One GSL is a good start, though.

possibly the best thing about taeja going 0-4 is we don't have a smug esv diamond talking about how teams should pay for talent scouting and he is the best talent scout and totally deserves a team to pay him to scout

maybe people will learn to not hype players up so much and call them the best in the world before they win a Korean tournament this time.

probably not! they never learn ~_~

yeah, people just do that, its so stupid

you gotta learn to respect the legends, I never thought taeja was best terran or even top3/5 terrans for that matter.

This group is shaping exactly like I predicted to be honest

Then you are silly. He was DEFINITELY top 2 terran with MVP only like 8 weeks ago.

He was "top 2" when there were pretty much no korean tournaments

and I also always thought polt > taeja

just mvp and polt make taeja not top2, stop thinking taeja was best terran just cuz he won foreign tournaments (lol), its like thinking stephano is top2 zerg with life, makes no sense

What? Taeja made Ro8 3 seasons straight in GSL (a Korean tournament!!!). What was Polt's record in GSL during that span?

I mean like 1-2 months ago when ppl kept saying that taeja was the best terran

Exactly, then he BACK it up with 3 GSL ro8 or better... No way you can rank Polt above him base on results (foreign OR korean)

So it's ok to hype Life now? :o

yes! yes it is! the kid beat Mvp in a GSL finals, that's the ultimate test of your ability as a starcraft 2 player.

yeah but what happens if he gets knocked down to code A? "people were saying he was the best in the world 3 weeks ago when will they learn ~_~"

Life won't get knocked down into Code A.
Look at his group. The easiest ever.

Plus, he took down MVP(most successful player of all-time) in a GSL final(MVP homecourt) in his first try.

When you are 15 and being a Royal Roader beating the best player,
You are on to great things and his hype is well deserved.

DRG fell out after his season 1 win + winning foreign events. It can happen to anyone on a bad day. If he plays to his standard, he should get through. But you can never be sure.

the point is, you cant really compare semifinalist to champion
