JYP went from being hyped as the potentially best protoss player to just another korean protoss.

That was due to the "Oh god protoss is fucked MC is out" period where we didn't know about JYPvT and only saw his PvZ

Because protoss was terribly underpowered back then. I remember how amazed everybody was when Huk won MLG and then Hero won Dreamhack.

It wasn't so much that Protoss was underpowered as there was a severe lack of strategies and innovation coming from the Protoss. HerO showed a different style of PvZ and PvT with his DH runs.


Protoss upgrades cost more than command centers back then. Protoss was horrible, maps were horrible for protoss and everything was horrible except for HerO who was a shining light of hope.
His Dreamhack win is my favorite ESPORTS!!!! moment of all time.

After reading that interview I hoped to see a better performance from TLO but I guess it's just some "tournament rust". I believe he can improve in the next few games.

I'm pretty sure the whole SlayerS_Brown hype started back then too

Brown was later, he pioneered modern PvZ and got loads of hype, then he turned out to be a one MU wonder
