Edit: I read Stephano on the wrong place for some reason ( :

Koreans aren't even going with their best, maybe there will be some big surprises in WCS finals There "best" couldn't qualify buddy maybe they arnt the "best"? so if stephano had bombed out of wcs france because of a bad condition or he had a bad day he's not one of the best in EU? that's what happened with WCS KR. some of the best Terrans didn't make it in the qualifiers and some of the other best players forfeited.

Shhh, we are already starting to develop the excuses. Even if we are almost 99% sure koreans will own... but just in case some shit happens.

ZvZ is quite beautiful right now, maybe it's because I play zerg, I don't know. It's a matchup of small edges and tough decisions, the randomness has gone down to almost nothing. TvT is still my favourite mirror and maybe my favourite MU to watch overall, but ZvZ is getting up there. I'm so excited for HotS, I have great hopes for the swarm host. It seems like it may add the positional warfare of TvT into ZvZ, acting like tank lines. I can't wait to see that explored!

Not really, he's never won a league. Of course, he's never actually tried to win a GSL or an OSL, but until he does that he really hasn't proven himself to that point: no amount of MLG, IPL and Dreamhack entitles you to be that cocky ![]() Why do so many people think Stephano can't be good in the GSL, yet players like MKP get so much credit? Maybe not you specifically, but it seems strange, considering MKP hasn't made > R016 in over a year iirc. And the game wasn't very developed back then. I swear, there's foreigner-lovers and people that absolutely hate them. Naniwa made Ro8 twice in a row and people still considered him bad. It seems like nothing short of a GSL championship will ever "validate" a foreigner. And even then I bet people will come up with excuses as to how they had the easiest opponents ever. Because the format is really different and He already said he doesn't feel comfortable with it and that's his "reason" to don't go to GSL. And i think it's an agreement that people who wants to go full cocky must have a GSL (OSL now too) to back it up (see idra). Again, players like MKP and Taeja get a ton of credit without winning the GSL/OSL. (Taeja granted has done very well, but certainly not well enough to earn the "best player in the world" tag that he's been given) Still MKP got 3 times second place at GSL. Taeja, i don't care what people say, i am telling you about what I do care. Results. And Stephano haven't faced and doesn't want to face the hardest format. If you are scared of that format, how the fuck are you going to pretend to be cocky ![]() He got second place in an era of starcraft II where players like Rain were getting second place. If we're going for results from well over a year ago (approaching 2 years ago), why are we not putting Jinro up there with MKP? MKP was getting "the best in the world" in the past few months, when he hasn't had a relevant GSL result in over a year. I'm not sure what you're saying about Taeja. And no matter what YOU think, you have to admit that tons of people call him the best in the world without GSL championships. Stephano is confident. I didn't see this particular interview, but I know that he always says he'll win but he never calls his opponents bad. I know that in his interview before him v lucifron he gave lucifron a lot of credit. Cocky would be "I am the best and everybody else is terrible" but Stephano is more "I am the best but everyone else is good" He doesn't really insult people, he's just very confident in his own ability. And for the record, I can't see EG not sending stephano to Korea. Tons of sponsor representation and stuff.
