I believe they went off a point system in which JD and Rain were the highest (though I still think they hunted for math that made JD one of top 2).

This is actually JDs trademark in BW, his results tend to be good when losing the first game

I thought every P/T would veto Whirlwind against Z. I think protoss were complaining about Abyssal City vs Zerg so he might have vetoed it since there hasnt been a lot of time to practice on it Why would protoss veto Abyssal city? I thought it'd be a very good map for blinking and forcefielding. (I'm P)
The third is quite open and there's a quick path into the natural. That's why zerg would be strong vs protoss. Oh and of course, as always, in PvT it's about drops.

Because they use a points system from PL games. Hard to base it on 'impressions' because everyone will hae different views.

You don't simply beat JD earlygame.

Blizzard needs to give protoss a better way to deal with late game zerg. Betting it on one vortex be it being ahead or behind the whole game is like gambling.

in a lot of situations JD still seems clueless and unsure on how to handle them. Give him half a year, an expansion that resets the experience of the old players and time to refine his already really good macro and I think he could become just as strong as in SC1.

Dafuq you been watching? The last match MC gimp the vortex and still won. His storms turn the game over. watch the game before you balance whine.

I don't understand what part don't you understand The part where he was in an unlosable position, didn't make any MAJOR mistake (even the Broodlord vortex only got half of them, and didn't really get archon in, and engaged in choke with spines), and still ended up losing after outplaying MC 80% of the game Losing all your Broodlords in MC's main and then having to remake them thus using up ALL of your bank. That's a pretty major mistake. It was a big mistake, but he was still way ahead even considering those resources lost during that. By comparison, MC made more of the same "major" mistakes as well (losing all sentries, 3rd base, let JD steal his 4th's gas, etc etc)
Losing the 3rd base was a major mistake, yes, but then JD allowed MC to max out.
Losing that BL army and then having that terrible engagement at that narrow path sealed JD's demise. Plus Storms, storms everywhere.

JD let MC back in the game when he threw all his brood lords away in the main. If he had pushed with his entire army he would have won right there. Of ocurse there was other mistakes too but that was so big.

You cannot think of a way to kill a protoss without sentries? Seriously? Grab a roach warren, max out in one minute and go fucking kill him.. Protoss needs to spend his gas on phoenix and upgrades.... so he won't have forcefields, so roaches rule.
