Think of all the matches we saw end in a comeback or the 2-1 because one player cheesed first game or whatever.
Don't burry NesTea because he lost two BO1s.
It's a LOT easier to study NesTea's play through the ton of available replays then to study a new player style.
Drop the BO1 and i'm sure NesTea would have come out of this group. I would buy into this argument if not for the 10 years of OSL history with almost all of them ending up being epic from prelims to the finals. The Bo1s are perfectly fine. Still remains to be seen as those 10 years were of BW. SC2 is a different game and the pace of the game is unlike BW.
I don't quite understand why everyone complains about it so much. It's group stage. If it was a single elimination Bo1 bracket that makes sense but I personally don't see why it's a huge deal to have a Bo1 group.

They're having to scrape NesTea off the floor, give them a few minutes.

I should probably have told someone I was coming to my parents house today. Only my sister and her boyfriend are home.
:/
On an unrelated note, putting my biggest headphones on and turning the volume on OSL to REALLY REALLY LOUD.

The thing that bothers me somewhat is the combination of BO1 with the long downtimes between the matches.
Its on national TV!!

Bo1 just goes against so much precedent already set by the SC2 scene. Also, most consumers of SC2 didn't follow BW, so tradition isn't a mitigating factor for them at all. I think change is inevitable if OSL wants a bigger foreign audience, though obv they know their business in terms of the domestic market.

Oh shit, they're making Grubby wear those terrible vests? I just thought it was Moletrap not being able to dress himself. It's so funny.

Tradition isn't a good reason anyway tbh. Plus I suppose it could be argued that SC2 is more volatile (at the moment) so the more games in a series the better to determine the better player.

Depends on if he'll get seeded or not. Koreans (except kespa ones) dont get seeds. Judging by his play today and last week in OSL, he will get crushed in ro32 and probably in Code A.
Except that he always, always plays better in the GSL. This is a tough season though, and he's in a hard group. It may well be the season he drops down, but he'll be right back up.

The reason why I personally feel a Bo1 Round Robin is best for a group is in a Bo1 the stronger player will usually win. It rewards studying your opponent and playing standard and safe is more likely as not only can you hold cheese, but it takes you to the mid game (needs to be longer, stupid maps) and late game.
You can also prepare a cheese for a Bo1, but you're putting way more on the line as if you lose that's it.
