It was simply a macro beatdown. Flash got the 3 CCs up quickly and San didn't punish him. They took their thirds at similar times but Flash had way more SCVs, plus MULES. Then they traded when Flash had a better economy, so he remaxed faster and took a third.
San didn't research storm so he had nothing that could really turn the tides of battle or allow him to expand safely.

What did you think of Flash's play, Cloud? this and I believe it almost reached double digits. to be honest if I wanted to see Flash's macro to the fullest I want to see him play on Whirlwind. He definitely had over 10. In the midgame, he had 4 Barracks in his main and then added on 3-4 more (the Tech Lab bonanza), and then build another 2 at his nat with the Ghost Academy. I didn't see if he had any more anywhere else, but that's 10 already.

So, Doa and Grubby casting OSL in the future? Would be great!

BW elitist. im not and dont claim to be a long time BW fan, i enjoy watching BW OSL and MSL's but i came from wc3 and was introduced to starcraft with sc2. Just my opinion after seeing LR threads of sc2 for the last 2 years compared to this thread
The only time I've seen LR threads for SC2 matches go poorly is lately when the whole 'elephant' thing started.
Besides which, the Up and Downs have been over for a while and almost no one was in that thread anyway.

and so OGN enters a new era edit: too bad it is without MBC game =(

I feel like if San had storm during that first engagement he would've rolled Flash's army. Flash was very passive throughout the game and there isn't really any reason why San shouldn't have storm out after not being pressured.

Also, there are more popular GSL players playing here than in Up and Downs so it's just plain wrong.

Flash did not make many errors and his play was not fantastic, but that was because San choose a style which can be dealt with in a rather simple way as Flash demonstrated. His battle micro wasn't always stellar though, for instance he often could snipe low health colossus with marauders, but instead just let them a-move against the immortals and zealots while being AoE'd. On this map if your opponents want to force an engagement you can make sure your army is in the open so a colossus based army is quite bad. Flash always had a supply lead. San was slightly ahead in upgrades (natural consequence of chrono), but almost any engagements was made on Flash's terms after upgrades had equalized. The final engagement was 3-3 vs 2-2, but Flash had an overwhelming army which almost directly countered San's.
I'm not sure what San thought when he wasn't mixing in ghosts. Flash was only producing vikings 2 at a time which is the best case scenario a colossus player can hope for. Most terrans would react much more violently and go at least 4 vikings at a time. So even though Flash did what in some ways could be seen as the response San was hoping for, San still didn't have a way to win.
San just seemed clueless. His decision-making and overall strategy made very little sense IMO.

Yep. But once he has all those expos, infrastructure and tech he gets very aggressive.

I don't think I've seen San storm anything since they removed Khaydaran Amulet :p
