Looks like a ESV weekly finals with Sting, Creator, Life and Keen :/

Creator to take it IMO, he is just looking stellar.

I love the TSL (been watching since BW days) but I agree with this. it's a shame there aren't any higher profile players left. not saying that the remaining 4 aren't good (they are). they aren't on the level of players like MC and MVP though. from a starpower standpoint, at least.

Stoked for ST_Life, one of my faves. Take it!

Invites. We hate them, because sometimes they are abused and undeserving players get in. But what was nice about TSL 3 was the 13 invites they had: Including Boxer, Nada, MVP, Nestea, MC, Huk, Ret, Jinro, etc.

Invites are good if they are used appropriately. I think a few invites for TSL 4 (maybe 4-ish) would have been nice, looking back retrospectively.

TSL 4 problem was the patch timing. Most qualifiers were right after the patch thus the qualifief players weren't the expected korean players.

What a close match. Jonny is gonna really popular right about now. But unfortunately there is nobody in the TSL whom I can get behind now. It's gonna lose a lot of entertainment value for me

Ehh I don't know. It's the unexpected Koreans that have survived the tournament, so despite not having the high profile we're probably looking at what the Ro4 might have been even with invites. Still, it would be more hype worthy if Creator had beaten MVP or something on the way here.

I think invites at least increase the hype and perceived 'level' of the tournament, though qualifiers typically give us the truly in form players. Up to the tournament really, but I hope next time TSL5 includes just a couple more invites. Not many. TSL3 felt like 50/50 (not sure of numbers) which definitely felt like too much. TSL4 had only 3 which imo feels like too few. Maybe 25%? Last runner ups and some recent tournament winners.

Either way, I'm pretty happy with the Ro4. Sting is the only player I'm really super shocked by, I didn't pick him even getting out of Ro32 let alone top this quarter of the bracket with First and Taeja. Creator and Keen were more safe bets in their quarter. And Life, Curious Squirtle was always hard to predict.

Yeah..I mean I'm personally happy for these four players who have been slaving away in Korea for ages for little reward. Especially Sting and Life. Will be cool to see one of them walk away with a big, breakout title, and all will be getting nice prizes, but you can't deny that this tournament has seen way less hype and excitement than the previous one.
