You have to consider that there is a lot of fluctuation in the audience also. Most people stay only for a short amount of time, watch a game or two and then go somewhere else. This makes it really difficult to get the crowd pumped up. I know this from IEM WC at Cebit. A lot of people just sat down on the chairs to chill from their exhausting walk over the venue and took a moment to eat or something. Definitely not the type of crowd that cheers and screams for the players.

And yes, my favourite matchups are the terran ones, because they allow for more strategies, pokings, etc.. making the match more entertaining for the audience. Getting deathballs are always boring. luckily pvz isn't only deathball

There's little to no interaction with the host, the guys barely show any recognition towards the players and if you're part of the audience, you realize that people barely moving can sweat more than the average metal concert audience. If there weren't so many Germans, like if Germany were the size of Finland, no E-Sports event would ever happen here. I've been there the last two days, the main reason might be that it's super annoying to be at that stage... The LoL stage is like 5m to the left (It's a bit bigger), so you hear the casters of both games permanently at almost the same sound level. You have to listen to the shitty music from 5++ different booths in the back of that stage and it's incredibly hot in there... I only dropped by several times and the longest I could stay was one BO3 because it was so annoying. This was a lot better when they only had one stage like in the last years. The disadvantage of one stage was, that that they had to mix the different games so we got a lot of downtimes... To be fair, the crowd is louder on side, I think they can't stream the noise of the crowd because it's so loud around that stage. If the LoL Crowd goes wild or they play the ESL-party trailer at that stage, you can't even understand the casters (depending on where you sit)

He wears a black shirt with a yellow arrow that points to his crotch and it says: "FREE ALCOHOLTEST FOR WOMEN". Why would you wear such a shirt to an event that is a 99% male nerd sausage fest?! ROFL.
