It's gonna be big. My guess would be around 100,000$ for first, but that's just a guess. it kinda seems to have the smallest prize pool out of the big games, like LoL and dota2
But the tournaments are more frequent, far more frequent.
Also Riot and Valve are the main sponsors for the prize pools of the tournaments.
GSL, MLG, Dreamhack, etc. All of those obtain their own funding via sponsors Blizzard hasn't been directly supporting them.
So the prize pool numbers are a bit deceiving, and the question must be asked of what would those two games' esports scene look like without the direct funding from Riot and Valve.

Oh, right, didn't think of that.

I think this has to do with the fact that, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, the big tournaments of those games are sponsored by the maker and don't happen as frequently, while there are very very many SC2 tournaments where the prize pool is provided by the organization that runs it.
I don't actually know the logistics of it though, or much about MOBA tournaments.

BW was the prime esport in Korea but not really in the rest of the world. Counter-Strike and WC3 were much bigger in the foreign community.

Also a very good point.
The famous 1,000,000 dollar DOTA2 tournament worked out to 200,000 per player which is still a lot, but that's not that much more than what some of the higher end SC2 tournaments go for.

Damn, almost five mil. I didn't realize how much more it was than LoL, but DotA2 has had some pretty hefty prizes.
That said, I have this weird prejudice against LoL but not MOBAs in general, so I'd much rather see DotA2 in the premier slot for that genre. >_>
