Slayers: 2 GSTL titles, winning 5-4 in the finals with MMA winning the ace matches against MVP and DRG. Clutchest of the clutch.
Liquid does have momentum on their side, I'll give them that, especially since this last week has been pretty tough for Slayers in terms of teamleagues, but by relying on 2 players to get a majority of their wins is a risky strategy. Snipe snipe, and it's over.
Yes i know about their past accomplishes, but that doesn't show their current state. They lost the EG master cup when they were the favorites to win it. Then they just got all killed by gumiho. I just dont see any of them being able to take down taeja especially if they rely on Ryung to do this.
As much as I love TaeJa, I really hope it doesn't come down to him winning the team 4 games in a row again. I would normally say SlayerS has the clear advantage here, but:
1) SlayerS has been not been performing to the best of their ability 2) TaeJa is on fire and can take down almost anyone
Well, thought I had more points than that, guess not haha. Hopefully Ret can take a game, HerO with a few, and TaeJa taking it home for the team. Would I rather see a Haypro all-kill? Yes. Will it happen? + Show Spoiler +

Not going to lie, the EG MCSL and the GSTL finals were pretty traumatic events as a Slayers fan. But I think that these events stick out because they were unexpected and surprising.
Slayers did finish first in the regular season of the EG MCSL. This is meaningless now that the finals have taken place and the final standings have been determined, but this was a team that (other than a Week 1 upset by Mouz), decisively beat every other team in the league (I think only Mouz, It'sGosu and coL forced an ace match).
Busan was a kick in the nuts. But we did beat NSHoseo, Zenex, Prime, Fnatic and TSL, which is a solid run. The season ended in a horrible way, but all in all, it was a pretty decent season, as we did make the finals for the first time in more than a year.
Ryung is definitely not the only person who can snipe Taeja. Coca would be a much better sniper, and last time I believe it was Alicia who "sniped" Taeja. Puzzle could also beat Taeja, as could MMA, and even Miya (MMA called Miya a ZvT god in practice).
Woww that poll was exactly 50/50, I just had to bump liquid to 51%!

Ooh, I'm excited for this match. I feel like it's going to be a close one. I'm still upset with Team Liquid pulling an upset over Startale after a 4-1 lead (if memory serves me right), so I'm counting on Slayers to get revenge!
In terms of raw strength in a bo9, SlayerS have the depth advantage, however Liquid has players that are on sick streaks, HerO with Hot Import Nights, Taeja in well... Everything.
Rooting for Liquid, as having them playing this format live in San Fransisco at IPL5 would just be flat out awesome!

They lost both their matches in the EGMCSL in the ace match in close series to Korean aces, not very indicative of their skill, especially considering Miya, inexperienced, was sent in one of those matches. Getting all-killed by gumiho was only due to momentum and min's failure to snipe him like he was supposed to. Any Code S level player can all-kill any team once they gain momentum, especially on a big stage. Not to mention Gumiho picked the perfect strategies (2 rax into 4 rax all-in, blue flame banshee all-in)
This time it's going to be even harder than before: almost all Slayers know Taeja and his playstyle very well and most of them are potential snipers. The same applies backwards, but Taeja is alone... Also beside Ryung, Coca and MMA there's the heavily underrated Alicia, probably the scariest Slayers atm, results wise.
Even if he's my favourite player, this time Taeja cannot do it alone. But Ret can be sided to snipe one/two terrans and has the ability to do so, Hero can bring a top performance and maybe Zenio will wake up. If that happens, Liquid has a good chance. Gl!

i think taeja has grown very much since he left slayers though, so what the might remember of him might not be what they get... ;P haha
