Hmm, ranking the world's strongest teams? You know, it wouldn't be bad if someone like IGN or TL made a team power ranking, it would certainly be a lot easier than individual power rankings.
In the end though, looking at teams in the long run, I think should only look at achievements, the same way we look at individual results over the long term. For example, MVP is the most accomplished Terran out there, which makes him the "best" Terran, likewise for MC and Protoss.
Likewise for teams. We could argue forever about who is the best team out there, but it would be a lot easier just to go by achievements rather than roster strength.
Looking at the big picture (including individual titles), no one can deny that IM is #1 (8 GSL titles, and a bunch of other stuff).
Looking purely at teamleague results, it would be Slayers #1 (2 GSTL titles, 3 finals appearance), then Prime and IM (1 GSTL title, 2 finals appearances, and 1 IPL TAC title for both teams, but IM is likely going to win another TAC), then probably MVP (1 GSTL title and 2 finals), then FXO (1 GSTL title), then Startale (2 GSTL finals). + Show Spoiler +For your eyes: Slayers > Prime/IM > MVP > FXO > Startale
Of course, that isn't completely objective, as it is important to debate how much weight to give to IPL TAC compared to GSTL, as well as consider whether any weight should be given to semifinal runs in the GSTL (hello TSL), or possibly other teamleagues (NASL teamleague, or KSL), even if they aren't as prestigious as GSTL or TAC.

^ That's the thing though, there are many many people out there who would consider TaeJa a "better" terran right now.
SlayerS' two GSTL titles were also in 1-week 8-team elimination brackets though, and BO7 only. Less of a league than the current IPL TAC, KSL and GSTL I feel. I think Prime's triple crown this year + finalist in the first real GSTL league last year is the most accomplished team result so far, but of course I am biased ^.^
I want to see another KSL like the first big one this year, and SPL for SC2. :D

Taeja is being overhyped. Just like Byun. It just takes more than this to claim the tile "best terran" or "best player".

I agree TaeJa and ByuN are a bit overhyped, but with Mvp injured, MKP not godmode anymore, and MMA only recently impressing again, #1 terran is hard to pin down. #1 player is even harder, with MC and DRG disappointing slightly.
I feel that neither #1 terran nor #1 player can be really awarded right now, but that's just my opinion, and many people may think otherwise :D

Haha, I guess we're both a victim of our biases. :p Prime's triple crown was definitely impressive, and I didn't count the KSL results because I didn't really follow that league, and it seems like that league has been put on hold unfortunately. But early 2012, Prime was definitely the team to beat, and they are top 3 in my mind.
Players like Bomber are the reasons why I don't put too much too much stock in "best player in the world right now". Bomber was a great player, and a year ago, people were talking about when he would he win a GSL, not if.
Bomber was a huge disappointment. He was hyped up so much that even winning MLG Raleigh was seen as expected, and his lack of a deep GSL run (only made it to the Ro8) was seen as a failure. Today Bomber is just another Terran, who never capitalized and won that big GSL title.
In comparison, Jjakji was the dark horse of the Terran race, making a huge upset by winning GSL November. He might not be a elite class of Terran like MVP or MMA or MKP, but he's solidified his place in history with that win. In comparison, MKP, who is a lot better than Jjakji, still needs to win that GSL title. He has the skills, and during spring of 2012 people were calling him the best player in the world, but he stumbled twice in the Ro16, and missed his chance (though he could still grab it Season 4).
+ Show Spoiler +Damn, another long rambling post :p
