I don't get any of the hate towards IPL when this was announced two months ago. If anything, IPL deserves credit for giving up-and-coming players a chance to qualify.

On July 13 2012 05:45 Stress wrote:The way Starcraft 2 is playing out currently, as a player, you aren't going to be able to make it to every event that you want to go to, you are going to have to choose your battles.

Yes, it is hard nowadays to get to everything you want to go to. Just look at NaNiwa. He decided to skip IPL 4 and Red Bull Battlegrounds (Which was events he wanted to attend) in order to be as prepared as possible for the GSL. And since he really wanted to win a Swedish event, he went to DreamHack Stockholm instead of an MLG area

That really was terrible scheduling. And how come there were so many walkovers?
Moosegills could have qualified winning one single match. (make you think of Ggandol

Yeah, I thought the same thing too (about Moosegills being the potential GGanDoL). Unlike the Regionals, this Satellite was free to enter, so there were a bunch players in the bracket who didn't take this too seriously, because they had no investment in it (yeah, the Regionals were $10, but that's something).

I'm a little disappointed about what happened with IceCream and HwangSin (not that they were disallowed from playing, but the way it happened), but at least the former should get in through the Amateur Satellite. I'd hoped that Scarlett would get another chance there as well (considering that her breakout performance was at IPL4), but she's one match win away from making too much money at WCS Canada!

They were at NASL/WCS Canada.

I guess IPL expects people to just look at the bracket link and see the eight players at the end of it? It's not exactly the most clear way of conveying that information. Oh well, at least theres this:

IPL had the ability to fix this, and instead pretty much ignored all the posters making valid complaints

i understand that you could say 'its not ipls fault'...your right...but IPL could have promoted themselves soo much by going 'oh hey, your right, lets do it this way instead'.

Its a qualifier, not a LAN, changes couldve been made.

Edit: skipping my lament at missing my fav players..But is there any info on the Amateur Satellite??
