It's not only about shoving as much stuff as possible out as quickly as possible, Star Leagues are about the story-lines and the terrific matches that come from the large amount of planning each player has for their upcoming opponent.
Also, what GSL doesn't have in money it makes up for in glory. It's the ultimate competition, winning a GSL basically cements a players legacy for all time in SC2.

40k for winner is really good prize money already. Keep in mind that there's GSTL too.

game 1 was definitely an all-ins, but it was a calculated all-ins after he knows he dealt considerable amount of damage and was able to get pylons up.
What should matter is the tension and pressure, and the continuous battle between two pros. Not about builds, cheese, all-ins or whatever.
I rather watch 6 minutes of intense fighting than 20 minutes of boredom and 1 fight that decides everything

Two months of 'work' which is basically playing 1 or 2 series a week and just practicing (which you should be doing anyways) the rest of the time. It's actually one of the best prize pools for actual games played.
It requires a big time commitment in terms of scheduling other tourneys though.
Anyway, I feel like GSL stream quality should be a bit better... like 1080p? Is that unreasonable? What are other tourneys doing these days?
