Also Seed shows why he is GSL champion. Time for Hero.

I don't think Hero is going out, not with Hero being so weak PvP and Seed so strong in it.

I think TLO or haypro, as funny as that sounds.

You better send HerO in a bit weaker and coinflippy match up... but sending out TLO or HayprO against Code-S Champion seed with insane PvZ, you gotta be kidding us.

It would be a great stomp, and way to show how dependent TL is on their koreans.

LOL you've been on about this for over how many thread pages?
with a negative attitude like yours, betting on underdogs is what makes it that much more exciting for me.

remember that post earlier that exposed so many others posters who 'knew' that taeja was dead, dead dead (against yonghwa?
then how taeja miraculous pulled it off?

yeah, that moment was sweet too.

Why does TL have to win 2 BO9's and IM only one BO9?

Loser's bracket

To elaborate slightly, it's because Liquid was the loser's bracket winner in a Double Elimination tournament, and IM hasn't lost a match yet, whereas, Liquid had, therefore, Liquid needed to win 1 Bo9 to reset it for the Grand Finals. Stupid format, imho.

Ummm... yes, that's a pretty dumb format.

Why is that dumb? Liquid has already lost a series, IM hadn't

Past series should have no relevance in the next upcoming series or the finals. In major sports, all that happens is you get 1 extra home court game or something that really doesn't make much of a difference, what if every sport had 2 grand finals because one team had a near undefeated run and the other didn't? it wouldnt be accepted.

Most sports don't have a double elimination bracket. Your analogy fails. This has been the standard in essentially every double elim. tournament ever. It's either this or extended series. Guess which one is better.

Ah I see.

Taeja was ahead the entire late game. If he had forced a direct engagement he would have roflstomped Seed.

Taeja threw it away by getting all his units trapped in Seed's base, not because "Protoss OP late game".

How is being on 1 mining base vs 2/3 being ahead? In what fucking universe ...

Taeja was constantly up 20-30 supply and had a bank lol

A bank that would run out in 1 production cycle, yeah fucking fantastic. And being up on supply a little bit with a much weaker army, vs tosses mass colossi archon ht and zealot, yeah also fucking fantastic lol .... but you still don't address how 1 base > 3 base .... lol ....

Does anyone know if ANYONE has ever actually won a finals from the loser bracket in this kind of tournament?

I mean ever, any esport game, shit even real sports. Is it even possible to beat the person who probably beat you earlier...twice in a row?

There is a reason that Seed is the current GSL champion and TaeJa is not :D.
Even though he lost in the first bo9, it's the 2nd one that really counts.

Ye, I feel like he shoulda just forced an engagement much earlier, it was maxed vs 150 supply at one point.

Doa is driving me fucking nuts with his "Who are they gonna send out next?" and "Hero isn't know for his good PvP, but here's why it was a good choice to send Hero out." Uh, who else are they going to send out? Nony? No, just shut up you idiot.

Worth pointing out that the only double elim tournament that I know of that didn't have two bo5s (or some kind of advantage for the WB player) was the MSL in BW.
