Puzzle took 3, sniper took 3, DRG finished it.
Why would Puzzle get the MVP exactly?

Puzzle came in on a huge deficit and forced an ace match. DRG, don't get me wrong, he's priceless in these scenarios for his team, and he definitely owned Puzzle - but that was one quick game, and very anticlimactic.

Good point about Sniper, it's either him or Puzzle over DRG.

I don't know - GOM seems to have the habit of just picking the last guy who won it for his team as MVP, and very rarely picking a player (last one IIRC was Tassadar? Went 4-0, lost, and Jjakji closed the series)

Ah shit I missed the last game, what happened?

DRG just rolled over Puzzle 2 base blink timing in seconds.
It was one-sided and pretty anticlimatic.

That's a bit overly simplistic.

A bad engagement cost Puzzle the match. He was attacking the rocks to the third on Antiga and wasn't watching his units and DRG just ran him over.

DRG counter-attacked. HENCE THAT'S WHY PUZZLE WAS DISTRACTED and DRG seized the chance to surround his army and stomped. It was one of the easiest hold i ever seen for a 2 base7 gate blink all-in.

Puzzle got beheaded by DRG.

Calm down. I just said that was a bit simplistic. I didn't disagree with you.

Ya i got you.XD Sorry.

DRG is a ruiner, no exceptions!

It is, Tasteless mentioned it a few times throughout the night.

Should've just Sentry/Immortal all-ind instead. Even with the amount of free stuff he killed with his initial 4 Stalkers, and the amount of units he forced, he didn't have enough. That Blink all-in only really works against Zergs who try that delayed Spire anyway.

He'd be fine if he had just paid attention to his units. DRG got a pitch perfect surround with spine support and the stalkers had nowhere to blink.

Nah DRG did a counter attack at Puzzle when he was moving out with his army. When Puzzle was distracted defending his base, DRG did a surround on Puzzle army.Destructive rock never really played any role.

DRG would crushed it regardless since he had 3 spines and mass roach and was already prepared for the all-in anyways.

Sentry/Immortal after the same opening would've rolled him though, imo. He didn't even have ling speed when the attack hit.

And how would you know it would rolled him?
I have seen DRG crushes sentry/immortal timing pushes(Alicia,Oz,Sase,MC,etc) many time. I bet he knows how to deal with it.

Because he ended up in a very similar position to how Stephano lost against MaNa, twice. I don't like Stephano, but his ZvP isn't significantly worse than DRG's.

You don't need to be so upset man, my opinion on a hypothetical does not matter all that much.

Not really. If i am not mistaken,Tassadar got the MVP award for 4-killing TL and Jiakji just cleaned the series.

But this match was different. It was 4-4.It is either do or die and that's why it holds way much more weight than the other matches.

Whoever wins the critical 4-4 is usually awarded the MVP.

Prime better wins against Slayers. Or we can give them the award of worst performing team in the history of the GSTL.

LG-IM?

Still, no shame in falling in probably one of the most stacked groupstages ever. Every team here except Fnatic is a GSTL champion.

lol no EG or Terran help...

Also, Ryung must be wondering how DRG justifies picking him now, seeing as how MMA and Ryung weren't even in this match. Poor Ryung ^^

Prime is the new team terran now. I think Prime probably has the strongest T lineup with Byun, Maru and MKP out of the teams
