I don't think Terran is in a state where they can win vs a good zerg while playing a style that is both safe to allin play and viable in a long game, no matter how good the terran is. A lot of MKP's TvZ success (and other people who win in TvZ lately) is based upon taking risks and getting away with it.

This isn't meant to be a balance complaint, that's just how I see it right now!

same goes for pvt since protoss adapted to drops plus the upgrade heavy charge zealot style is (was?) getting popular

no rant, but i feel like terran is currently the worst race to play out a completely regular macro game in either tvz and tvp which is somehow sad imho :-(
its not worse by a huge margin, but it simply feels like you are a little bit behind when on equal terms in a very long game - ofc im not saying there is no way to win - there are still plenty timings/cheeses/ultragreedy builds around; yet again not all of those satisfying viewers and pro's i guess

ontopic: mkp + parting, i think partings pvz will surprise!

No I think you're right. MKP usually wins when he goes into epic greed mode. at the same time it makes him extremely susceptible to cheese i.e. dying to roach rush from bly, died twice to 6 pools from byul, etc... However, if anyone gets away with ridiculous amount of greed it's usually him so I'm hoping he's able to pull it off. If that doesn't work maybe the zerg wont kill any of his medivacs like in some games and he'll just end up with pure marines and 20 medivacs ^^

We're finally to the interesting groups :D

Despite Symbol's disappointing showing at Anaheim, I think he'll come first. He just seems like an excellent preparation player.

MKP will probably advance with Symbol in 2nd place. Not much to say.

Parting will probably go 4th. His PvZ isn't especially bad, but he's not that great either, Symbol should definitely beat him and Yugioh I'd favor as well. While his bread and butter, PvT, will be against MKP who usually beats him (although he failed to in the gsl last season..).

Yugioh, I'm very intrigued to see. I always found him to be pretty lame, but last time I saw him he played excellent against MKP. Since there hasn't been much outside of his brief run to code S, it's hard to know where he stands. Was he just riding the momentum of the patch, or has he finally risen to the occasion? I hope so, it would be sweet if Yugioh suddenly became awesome, think of all the hilariously lame Yugioh jokes to be made by Tastosis :D

Expect:

Symbol 2-0 Parting
MKP 2-0 Yugioh
MKP 1-2 Symbol
Yugioh 2-0 Parting
Yugioh 1-2 MKP

Hope:
Yugioh screams "YUGIOOOOOOOHHHHH" and then like, grows 7 inches taller and his voice gets deep and then he proceeds to destroy the group 4-0. Also, MMA becomes Joey Wheeler :p

Parting 2-0'ed twice !? Never gonna happen imo.

Have you seen Parting as of late? I think it's very very probable tbh. Parting is not in the shape he was the last couple of seasons.

I'm thinking MKP is surely going to advance unless his TvZ is really that hindered by the new metagame. And then I also think a Zerg will advance, sorry Parting, but I don't think his PvZ is strong enough to get him out of this group.

Agreed, it makes me sad as a Parting fan but ever since getting 2-0'd by Stephano at Red Bull he has not looked very good...

MKP best chance to get out of the group is to get a little lucky against Yugioh and have his other win be Parting. I dont see any other way really for MKP to get out of this group.

Parting PvZ is pretty weak compared to his PvT.
Him getting 2-0ed by Symbol won't be an upset.

What? MarineKing 2-0'd Symbol with ease, despite the current state of TvZ.

Well, this group is pretty insane so maybe he can be demolished. But I mean, twice 2-0'ed is not that probable imo. If it happens it will mean he's in a slump right now.
