This is the reason I quit playing SC2, the fabled "weak early game" of Protoss doesn't exist, but we're supposed to... abuse it? Hope that Protoss doesn't do that build? no idea ;| 1 rax expo is supposed to be a go to build but it loses to so many things unless you blindly triple bunker or get the lucky perfect scout. 2 rax seems more sturdy but it also leaves you behind if toss reads your opener right and doesn't work too well on many maps imo

If anything, game 2 was very much a ladder build from Squirtle.. and somewhere around diamond level on the ladder at that

Hope Squirtle wins next so Thorzain won't have to face him in a possible final match.

Yeah, that's a really insightful comment as well, you run up the ramp, maybe you hold the attack, but now you're basically on 1 base against a toss that will soon be on 2 bases. And you won't break out until you get Medivacs, by which time he will have his nat half way saturated and he himself will also be teching to something more powerful.

Punish = all-in? please don't change the words, it really makes your sentence less clear. Squirtle-->hardcore all-in that went unscouter Thorzain-->eco build that had only 1 bunker ready B.O. win

This is the reason I quit playing SC2, the fabled "weak early game" of Protoss doesn't exist, but we're supposed to... abuse it? There's no weak early game, it's just build dependent. Consider if T went 2gas after 1raxCC and fast cloakshee. It would crush 3nex 9m push. But it would get crushed by 4gate, for instance. But foreign T too predictable, do the same build every game. The issue with the first map is that it's too big for most 1base play, except maybe a proxy rax. 111 variations are also weak because of the travel distance. The moment you remove those threats from TvP, P gains huge flexibility by being able to make certain assumptions.
