This logic really has never made any sense to me. Its not like he did nothing and they pulled his name out of a hat. He forfilled the qualifier by doing good at foreign events. Basically major foreign events function in a way similer to code A just in a different style.

If he wanted to play in GSL, he should've skipped MLG, but that's just my opinion. Truth is though, you wont do good if you attend 3 events in 3 different parts of the world over the course of a week.

It's really not that simple. It's a gigantic map, you can't really stop the third and it's difficult to know exactly how strong the protoss in because it's hard to scout (only seeing one gate with a scan doesn't actually mean anything). And on the flip side, if both players went for 6 minutes 3rds, terran would lose because of warp gates

Gumiho did a completely different build and had radically different game plan. He did one of the double reactor rax and factory tank builds into a marine/tank push that was designed to be safe against certain attacks and put pressure. And while that build is good versus certain builds and pressures, it sacrifices tech for security, since it delays 1/1 and other things by a lot.
