I missed the match between squirtle and thorzain. Did he do 1-1-1 allin to win?

Well he lost so

woops, misread the results.

first game was warp in 5 DTs via warp prism until Thorzain hemorraged to death
second game was a simple two colossi without range push, a-move'd like a BOSS

thorzain vs gumiho was pretty good though, if you're looking for games to watch

Awwww did your poor little foreigner get stomped? There, there don't cry too hard, he still has Code A.
There's no need for this, najreteip was only making a very accurate observation. Squirtle is a boring player, regardless of who he plays, but since he's also successful I don't think he'll worry too much about being boring.
Squirtle has more builds than almost any other Protoss and ironically the two base collosus all in he gets so much shit for is the build "fan favourite and totally non boring player" Naniwa won MLG Invitational and made the Providence finals doing in 80% of his games.
LOL - so how many builds does he have? How many builds does the other protoss players have? How often do they use them?

Here are a few: Naniwa, MC, Parting, Genius, Hero, Creator

Please give us some helpful statistics.

Naniwa is boring to watch as well. He's a fan favorite but no-one said his games were fun to watch. Yes, including his 2 base colossus timing where he puts his army together and the gg 1 minute later.

Naniwa - two base collosus all in, turtle until deahtball
MC - huge variety of gateway all in's, stargate build/all in's and will turtle until deathball too.
Parting - Gateway all in or turtle until deathball
Genius - Does all sort of wacky shit.
Hero - Turtle until death ball (used to do a lot more other stuff when he sucked PvT six months ago).
Creator - Turtle until death ball.

Of those players I'd say only MC has more variety in their PvT than Squirtle.

Considering the circumstances it was a terrific showing from ThorZaIN in my opinion.

And also, to consider is that he only lost to Squritle, who not only is the runner up last season, but who was playing a terran in the final and now had 3 terrans in his group, so he've only been having to practice v t for like a month+.

i think Thorzain had a pretty good showing, considering the circumstances.

Gumiho is fucking good and knocking him out is no small feat.

nothing to be ashamed of, losing to squirtle.

i think that turtle into a deathball is to generalizing when talking about the number of builds, even if the endgame end result is similar the early/mid game play out differently depending on the build.
i would atleast argue a creatorprime style double forge ->collosus->templar are different builds compared to fast 3rd/ fast templar builds(some of them use only 1 of these some of them a couple).
also MC and Naniwa used to do alot of sentry pressure builds(1gate expo->3 gate).

My view exactly. Thorzain is now guaranteed Up/Downs and at least a chance at making it back to Code S. Good enough effort after coming in jetlagged.

Apologies in that case, I saw the team name Zenex and assumed it was the same person

I know this was Squirtle Thorzain was playing but he wasnt even close on both occasions he needs to get with HuK whos on the same team whos having major PvT problems they could both benefit from it

TZain beat Gumiho is better than I expected, thought he couldn't take a game off any one but very well played. Squirtle is too good for him, no shame of losing.

Coming in off a long flight a couple of hours before your match sucks, but Thorzain played some very good and entertaining games vs. Gumiho. GL in code a ro32, hopefully we'll see you next season in code S. I'm glad he didn't go the way of Idra and Huk, at the very least gets an up and down spot. Also a good chance vs JYP if he advances.

You literally dont know what your babbling. Genius and creator are the only ones who turtle to deathball? Parting and hero turtling? They are the most dynamic protoss players

I feel like you're underselling Parting's style, its probably slightly worse that Squirtle, but only just, and its far far more entertaining, fast storm play is hella fun to watch, and looks broken as fuck when done right, which is how all the best strategies should look.

Parting is fun to watch once he gets storm out. Up until that point, it depends on who he's playing; if he plays someone like MKP, it's really fun to watch. If he plays a Terran who also just turtles and doesn't harass, it ends up being pretty boring because he just rolls over the Terran without much of a fight. His HT usage really is a beauty though.

Overall, I enjoy watching Parting, HerO, and JYP (sometimes Ace when he is on fire, his PvZ was fun, but idk if he can replicate that) over MC, Squirtle, Naniwa, and Creator. Genius is fun to watch when he doesn't die while doing weird shit.

Squirtle's PvZ is pretty nice too once he gets into late-game mode. His mothership control and use is probably the best I've seen so far.

Oz's PvP is hilarious when he mindgames himself into losing, lol.

Pretty good by thorzain. He has ensured at least a code a spot for two seasons, wth no time to prepare. If squirtle had beat keen I could have seen thorzain then finishing off keen.
