Yea you're right. Not even kidding. PvP actually does require skill. MC outplaying HuK so bad. HuK made the mistake of no detection. He should have known but I don't know he didn't make a robo.

Also, if Ostojiy loses to HuK, that'll be the upset of the whole battle ground.

What?

As opposed to LastShadow beating someone?

I don't know if you've been paying attention but LS is sick; HuK is in perfect condition.

That's all the more reason for HuK to beat Ostojiy. Players tend to perform better when they're healthier >.>

I don't know if you've been paying attention to SC2 but HuK is a better player, and while Ostojiy isn't bad, he's certainly not favored against HuK... and certainly not to the extent that HuK is so bad and Ostojiy is so good that HuK should get raped by him.

Umm... Ostojiy is fairly new, which is why he does not have as much achievements. HuK has been around for quite a while which is why he has those achievements... people like you only look for achievements while objective viewers like me pay attention to raw skill. When it comes to raw skill Ostojiy has HuK beat in every way possible: macro, micro, game sense, good looks..... everything.

Lastshadow talks shit all the time on TL.

I remember translating an article of Xigua in WCG he was commentating how Xigua is lucky to get 2nd and he has no skill and cheeses all the time on KR ladder.

And in one thread he says Firebathero is bad in SC2 for a progamer who played 2000 games.

Well, in all fairness to him, Squirtle is one of the best Protoss in the world right now, giving even MVP a run for his money. No one would argue that LastShadow is anywhere NEAR MVP's skill, so I don't see why we would expect him to beat Squirtle. The games against Ret were disappointing because he lost Banshees due to missed micro and a couple of poor timing choices with his mech.

And while I don't think that Day9 was necessarily wise to invite LastShadow from a PR standpoint, it was a replacement for Polt who had to back out, and there isn't anything wrong with giving unexposed players a chance to see if they can play with the big boys. If Day9 had invited literally anyone else in the world who had done some sort of progaming and was a current player, no one would have bitched (to this extent). They think it's simply because the two are friends. What about Sheth? Day9 practices with him and they're good friends, so why are we not upset about Sheth? True, Sheth has much more results than LastShadow, but I bet you could think of people who were arguably more skilled to TRY and invite (TO BE CLEAR: I AM NOT ARGUING SHETH SHOULDN'T BE THERE: it just seems to me that people are being harsher than necessary). It's not a matter of getting the 16 best players or 16 players with the most aggregate tournament appearances.

People need to take a chill pill and just enjoy the games. That last game against Squirtle was pretty epic with the proxy hellions and then the bitbybit moment with Squirtle's EXCELLENT positioning and Storm timings.

For me personally, the Lastshadow felt like it truly came out of left field. I mean, it's an invitational, so we as spectators to a free-to-watch tournament can't complain too much, but it just seems that Lastshadow just disappeared from the scene back in 2010 when he got 4th at an MLG and just suddenly pops back up. It's kind of like inviting a guy like Cauthonluck or something.

Lastshadow was put in a pretty shitty position though. How do you turn down an invite like this, yet everyone expects you to fail (and some even hope you fail), and you are in a group with Ret, Squirtle and PartinG? A tough situation indeed.

Yeah pretty much this. The only chance he had of getting some respect/less hate from the community was to somehow upset the two best PvT players on the planet or beat Ret who is a monster. Instead he lost which a lot of players would and is getting shit on, plus he has probably read this thread and the prior thread and saw all the hate so wouldn't have helped his mindset or confidence much

Here you go, and for everyone else who missed it, this was posted last week, so it's not as if this stuff is old " I think foreigners are terrible in StarCraft2 and don't deserve to beat Koreans." And thats not the only cases, he talks about it a lot. but that was the most recent.

Heres the full interview: http://www.team-dignitas.org/articles/blogs/Interview/1430/Interview-with-Lastshadow-We-owe-a-lot-to-StarCraft-1-but-also-to-Korea-for-actually-making-it-an-e-Sport/

Thanks. I can see why people find that attitude offputting. He did say Ret was a good foreigner though, so I would have thought TT1 would love him for that.
