To stay mobile because he was so far ahead after the harass? To stay safe if there came mutas? They're mobile, do okay vs lings or hydralisks(comapred to unsieged tanks), and do good against mutalisks. Light was very ahead after killing half the drones of his opponents early* game - he just had to mass something and go kill Calm, and goliaths were the most suitable option for it.

It didn't really matter what he made at that point, but vulture/tank would have done better against any ground based army. If he suspected a muta switch and wanted to stay safe then that's smart.

I only watched from the vult harass on, but he was doing a mech build and therefore built goliaths to defend against muta harass... but after the vulture harass was unusually successful, he was so far ahead that he went mass goliaths as almost a BM/ceremony type thing. Not typical at all.

STOP KILLING ESPORTS It's faszinating... for english casts, people complain when the casters occasionally call stuff wrong but are very excited/exciting, the korean casters could talk very excited about the cup size of tossgirl the whole game and never about the game itself and people would still call the korean cast better eventhough they don't understand anything :p

Not typical at all. Goliaths timing exists and are pretty strong (4 fact goliaths is an all-inish attack). Ask Jaedong.
