HerO and all of Liquid is going anyway and so is Creator and about everyone notable from Prime, only Gumiho has a chance to earn a ticket and frankly, I'd much rather see Jjakji tearing shit up in Vegas than the Towel Terran.
Hmm - should be some exciting games! For both sets I could see either of them winning.
Gumiho has great TvP, but Hero's ain't the worst either - especially lately. I could definitely see HerO taking him out, but I'm voting for Gumiho.
I'm especialy excited for Creator vs. Jjakji because vT and vP are both are reallllly good at their respective matchup. I'm gonna give the edge to Jjakji here just cause Creator's already got a spot to IPL4, so i'd rather see more Code S class players like Jjakji!

Wouldn't it just go to one of the team members that are not included in the 7 for GSTL? Plus - IPL has paid for a good percentage of the flight costs for the teams according to David Ting on the executives, so they wouldn't benefit from that so much =p

He did this build vs Creator I think? I forgot what tourney but it worked alright.
Don't think it is a bad build per se, but definitely very reliant on the follow up being spot on. Seemed like Gumiho continued tank production past its welcome and never got anything out of it except to make every Protoss player quite nervous as one always is against a 1-1-1. I have to say that I like seeing experimentation being done with actual follow ups from a non-all in 1-1-1 too, it often puts Terran in quite advantageous but not game winning positions; the mid to end game transitions are so unexplored though.

IPL casts are usually pretty light on Protoss insight. I watch them for the games more than anything. Even if the casters are very good at their race, they sometimes miss obvious stuff from the other races just due to their lacking familiarity.

Yeah it was not a slight on them. I usually enjoy Cats and Doa, just for the pleasant banter that occurs when they cast together. It is simply rather amusing when this happens, as they quite frequently have little to say about the early game at all. But as long as the observing is decent and they show a production tab, I can just watch the game and treat whatever they say as an easy to listen to background and feel the excitement whenever they decide to go for it.
No bashing at all. In fact, they are extremely hard working and I really appreciate IPL and their casters for providing me so much content in general.
And of course it is very easy to be happy about everything when your favorite player is winning.
I don't think DoA follows GSL anymore (assuming this is a live cast), he said that there is still a chance of Gumiho going to IPL4 if FXO goes to the GSTL finals. They lost last night. T_T

It's a pre-recorded cast.
What the hell is up with jjakji in online tournaments recently....so many all-ins.

Maybe he just doesn't care about them much and wants to get them over with? It seems weird, I agree, though they have been working pretty well for him.
I wouldn't want to go to the lategame against Creator anyway, tbqh
So many Immortals made. Even started one before the first Observer, so very greedy by Creator.
Easy to smile when you do not really care about the outcome of the match, if I had been a die hard Protoss or Creator fan that game would not have been easy to watch however.
Like...Jjakji is kind of scary playing standard. Though to be fair he had a fine advantage after that failed 4 Gate off Creator.
Also, CP, no need to excuse yourself from knowing LoL teams. I don't know many at all, but it is not as if the knowledge is something to be ashamed of! Gogo LoL teams!

I feel like Creator should have been better off, dont know how he lost that many units when jjakji had mostly helions.

The observing was kind of off. The Hellions went in to Creator's natural when Jjakji did the first drop that was met with four Stalkers in the main. Was hard to follow what actually happened, but two out of the four Hellions made it out with five kills between them. They never showed SCV/Probe counts past that, but I would imagine they killed off at least ten Probes?
And to the poster above. No, none of the openings were standard. But the early midgame with two-pronged aggression with MMM (and a few Hellions) versus Gateway is not unknown in the TvP matchup. -.-

Creator's a late game player. He folds to cheese pretty easily (see: his up/down groups where he got bunkered lol)

He's fairly good at holding early aggression, but far from unbeatable. He has proven to be almost unbeatable if you let him transition into his lategame of choice, though.

First game Jjakji went double Starport Banshee without Cloak. Creator read it as a 1-1-1, overbuilt by far on Immortals and had no real defense against five Banshees with SCVs repairing them. Second game was a 1-1-1 proper with a very late siege mode by Jjakji, Creator countered easily with a Nexus first and heavy chrono on what turned into many Immortals. Third game was a Hellion build by Jjakji, Creator went 4 Gate. Jjakji came out ahead after meeting the first Creator units in the middle with Hellions and Marauders. They both expanded behind it, Jjakji went into a drop in the main with four Marauders while sending four Hellions into the natural, killed a lot of Probes and just extended the advantage further with small drops and threatening Hellions into the natural again until a doom drop into the main sealed the game.
The awkward moment when you realize that your four colossi are tripoding their way into a concave of vikings, unsupported. Happy that Jjakji went through though.

Yeah that pretty much turned what looked to be a fairly even encounter into a pure Protoss slaughter.
Edit: To Bagration: Do not see him on any list and has not qualified in any way, so I assume that the answer is no. Which is a shame, though to be fair with the amount of playing and travelling he has undertaken some time off would probably benefit him a lot long term.
Whoa Gumiho 0-3 to Hero? He's having an oGsTOP-esque fall from grace. In the span of only a few weeks he's gone from being on the cusp of glory to getting waxed at every encounter.

There were only 4 code A/S caliber terrans who actually ended up playing so it's not all that surprising. Creator had an easy bracket, but Hero has definitely impressed with his PvT.
