HerO and Thorzain fighting

Life is sort of a controversial player here. This is my opinion of his situation in the tournament. He has been beastmoding through just terrans so far. If he were to win, he would have to beat two protosses (HerO and Creator) and two Terrans (winner of Gumi/ThorZaIN and Jjakji). Frankly, I think life can beat Jjakji. Player vs player puts Life ahead, having beaten Jjakji 4-3 in July. This is before Jjakji wins the GSL but life has shown amazing zvt. Gumi/tz ought to be easier. The big problem will be CreatorPrime. However, Life has only had to prepare for two matchups, while all the other players probably weren't focusing on their vZ or were busy with major tournaments.

Judging from results that are almost a year old feels pretty far fetched, but life is definitely good, i doubt he will win this tournament though.

Thorzain couldn't handle Jjakji's tight little opening.

This is hardly the only tourney these guys are involved in. There is no reason why any of them would have practiced less against zerg in the past few weeks. I dont think your last sentence makes much sense.

Hoping for the hero win. Does anyone know how recently these games were played?

I expect Hero to win, but between Tzain and Gumiho it will be fairly close imo. I think Gumiho's TvT seems a bit shaky if not inconsistent, although still favorable in his favor. Losing 0-3 to Apocalypse, but then taking out Nada, Supernova and Select shows that Gumiho is capable (even if they were 3-2's). I hope Thorzain beats him though, he has the capability to make a 3-2 series.

The fact of the matter is Life is very inconsistent in ZvP. Sometimes he beats PvZ monsters like Squirtle with flair, sometimes he utterly fails against the most mediocre players. The only real advantage he has in this match is no GSL distractions.

Gogo HerO and Thorzain. I was rooting for both yesterday, wish I didn't have to root for them today. Ah well, show the world that you guys are boss!
Good mech usage with literally like 50 helions by Gumiho this game.
Thorzain is being outplayed, unfortunately

Sadly yea, his indecision didn't help in game2 either. But Gumiho not really even putting in too much effort to get an easy 2-0 lead.

I want Life to win because if he doesn't win, there is 0% ZeNex can afford to send him to Las Vegas. If Hero wins, he was more than likely going to IPL anyway and has the team support to get there.

Indeed, its much more significant for someone like Life or Jjakji, although personally i want jjakji to win ( cause im biased as hell, deal with it!)

Gumiho got mech spooned. Good that Thorzain didn't go 0-3 at least.

wanted to see those BCs (

The entire TL roster already seems to be going, hero winning would only mean hero getting some money and TL not paying for his flight. Ill rather see life/jjakji/creator(Since prime could send a 8´th member if they get to the GSTL final) win this tournement since these players wouldnt go otherwise
Gumiho just aggressievly taking back the lead.
Damn, Gumiho really took advantage of mech immobility. That and Thorzain threw away alot of helions that game.
What an interesting run for Gumiho so far. He falls in the WB early and claws his way back through a long, tough path in the LB.

No shame in losing to a great opponent.

Life is an absolute beast. Helped Taeja beat DRG in Code S, beat Polt in this tournament, and is #1 on GM with a 70%+ win percentage. This kid is either going to lead ZeNex to a bright future, or he will be poached by a team and become the next Puzzle, Byun, etc.

He's pretty great. But that game was not one of his better moments.
So, that game started with hero forgetting warpgate. He skipped his first cannon for a faster core, and ended up completing warpgate at about 10:30.
Man, sloppy play by Hero in this game, just like in game 1 - losing sentries/forced to use FFs due to having sentries way out in the open.

These ZvP engagements are pretty fucking terrible. He'll never get consistent in the matchup until he learns proper positioning with the BL/infestor/corruptor army (such as, there is no plausible reason for leaving your broodlords in the front of your army when the battle begins). Also he has to saturate that fourth base a lot faster if he wants to get more broodlords at transition time.
You need a lot more infestor energy so that you can always spawn infested terrans under your broodlords so protoss doesn't want to blink.
The perfect situation is fungaling him right at 9 range, and it felt like that's what Life wanted to do, but you can't really guarantee that, because the stalkers could be at range 11, out of range of fungal, and then blink into the broodlords before you fungal. If there's infested terrans already hatching there, an offensive blink is suicide for the stalkers.

Or you can just leave your unit under the broodlords so blink stalkers can't hop underneath them. It seems like he wants to bait the stalkers so he can trap them with fungal + lings but that doesn't work against armies with colossi in them.
Does anyone else notice how odd it is that Life never spreads creep in ZvP? He's usually pretty decent at it in ZvT but in this matchup it's like he doesn't care at all.

holy hell that immortal micro by hero is incredible

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? So good, he just won that with pure skill, so awesome
That immortal was epic =).

That was the ugliest ZvP I have seen in months.
looks like i was wrong on HerO loosing this series. Sick game.
Outstanding hold, and lucky life never randomly threw down any extra bases during that aggression.
Funday monday immortals :b
That was insane micro. I have no idea how he kept macroing while having to micro like that.
life deserved to lose after playing like that.
Good morning, world. Last games immortals was a good start to the day. wp Hero. ^^
For gods sake......
Wtf man? I mean really... Hero please don't do that again... I mean... Cmooon! You just broke this game!!!
Mmhmmm, Hero vs Gumiho and Creator vs Jjakji. Some awesome TvPs incoming! =D
that immortal micro is definitely going to the ipl top 5 plays of the week. starcraft 2 has gotten so much better since the gsl open seasons =)
Wow. Inspired this young toss is. Inspired to use more warp prisms as a defensive tool or even just in the army when attacking or defending for that exact reason. Really impossible to micro away from fast roaches when they burrow or get the jump on your immortals. NOT NO MORE ZERGS... HERO'S THE NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN
that game was absurdly awesome, wow
One of the few games I'll be willing to go back to rewatch.
sucks for life but i can't feel too bad with that awesome last game.

The last game was equally parts awesome and facepalm.

he didn't. he had like 1000+ minerals after all the microing

I am going to have to watch that last game with Hero. I was only able to watch game 2.
It's kind of funny to see Gumiho make it this far after I remember seeing him get crushed by Apocalypse so long ago.
that micro kinda reminds me of bw's shuttle + reaver combo
a friggin' beauty to watch
