Damn, DRG must be massively jet lagged. No other logical explanation for him to play that bad. DRG doesn't tilt either, he is good at playing from behind, he did multiple times.

I have no doubt that given some time he will come back stronger then ever, but today he really was outplayed by everyone.

its actually a real possibility that July will be the only Zerg in ro16.

maybe the rants of DRG and Nestea were really true^^

I'm not sure if DRG is still the best ZvT player. He used to be, but he looked weak against Gumiho in the recent GSL semis, and in all his three recent finals that he lost, he lost to a terran. Most of his recent victories are against Protoss and Zerg, I think. Or perhaps it's just that Zerg has problems against terrans. July resurging is always a sign the match-up is in flux. :o

Who exactly would be better?

I've always felt Korean zvt has been lacking. Even since Dream Hack Valencia when DRG barely beat Thorzain I felt his zvt wasn't special.

I honestly thing foreign zergs are more advanced in zvt. Stephano and Ret have very different styles than DRG, for example, and I think DRG would have more success with those.

Theres also a lot of Zergs in Code A/B I feel have superior styles to DRG.

Lol. No. Just no.

Stephano - Huge losing record vs Polt in Polt's worst matchup. Barely played any other recent ZvT's vs Koreans but lost 2-0 to Sound and MKP at HSC3 and lost that Bo1 to MVP.

Ret - Apparently beating MVP 2-1 once makes up for losing the overwhelming majority of his ZvT's vs Koreans. Hell he even has recorded loses to Goody and Thorzain in best of series and you're considering him comparable to DRG and Leenock?

DRG and Leenock still have the best ZvT even if DRG played terribly today.

stephano losing to mkp at hsc3 matters but winning vs mkp at eswc does not? not saying that stephano is top zvter because hes not but picking statistics this way is unfair

He tweeted something about headaches. Given how badly he played, I think that's a very high possibility. There's just no other excuse for how badly he played.

The jetlag isn't really much of an excuse after MKP's performance yesterday.
I feel like that loss in the MLG-final really got to him.

No one except GOM has the numbers for live viewers, but you can see the views on all the VODS on the website.

If you win a GSL you will be studied a lot.

I think its pretty natural that you have a hard time after that if your opponents can prepare a couple of weeks for it, especially as DRG clearly had a bad day and was busy traveling to MLG and such in the last couple of weeks.
Feel a little bit bad for the korean zergs though, hope at least Nestea and Leenock make it through. I loved July yesterday, his style is always really fun to watch.

No idea about Code S, but they got around 15-20k for Up&Down on JUST the Twitch.TV stream when they were streaming it last season.

and TheStC just won the group when he was at MLG, too, but I guess it can affect different people in different magnitudes

Maybe its the manhandling he has received recently by MKP. Everyone knows DRG's ZvP is incredible but has his ZvT suffered and his confidence shattered in the match-up because of his recent, big match defeats.

Damn, didn't know about the headaches, but I think it definitely got to him, so sad to see someone lose because of that, and to remember that, no matter how good you are in SC2, you are still only mortal.
