zerg still easily win in big map. Only reason STC won is because this map is very easy for terran to secure and close to zerg base.
STC is no midtier. He was dominating beta before DRG even started playing SC2. He was in service, that's why you didn't see him in previous GSLs

I don't feel that Antiga is a good map for muta ling baneling. Most games I see on that map involve some kind of fast 3 base hive tech to deny the terran from getting the 4th base in the middle. With mutas and banelings, so much gas is lost in each engagement, and once the centre base is taken, extra losses are incurred when the terran cuts off reinforcements to the side bases.

Expecting Taeja to take the next series because of Jjakjis weaker tvt. Having 3 semifinalists in the ro48 code a seems like a real possibility.

well, DRG is still the best ZvT player in the world. He should have two ~50-50 games to come, so still 25% chance to get up there

lol no.

DRG didn't run any units up to the 3rd did he? He had already taken down the rocks so he had multiple attack routes available.

Either way DRG is pretty screwed lol

I haven't seen the games yet since i'm at work, but ever since his impressive MLG run a few month back i'm of the opinion that TheSTC is one of the best Terrans in the world and highly underrated. I'm excited to see what play he will show in the future.

there was no picking

Taeja/Jjakji should be quick. Taeja's TvT is exactly like Polt's and most of the recent Jjakji TvT's I've seen have been him doing 1/1/1 all-ins or two bases timings.

Solid argument you got there.

.. Also a completely botched timing attack throwing away a maxed army taking out 5 tanks and some bunkers. And losing 50 % of his infestors to bad rally points. And at one point losing half his army at the xel'naga because they started running towards the siegeline while he was microing mutas. DRG was just playing much worse than he usually does, it happens. Get over it. I don't even remember the last time he wasn't in the finals of any tournament he was in.

Dunno, you always have to consider the possibility that he could rebound into god mode. You don't win three gsl championships and stay in code S every season (and every gsl) without being potential ro8 material...

Won't make it past the ro8...>_> He only lost to the finalists last season and they were very close series. Regardless, his performance this year hasn't been nearly as impressive as the last year. I feel like MC has his number and I could see him lose to Virus considering his loss to Demuslim. I hope he makes it out of his group, but I'm not optimistic of anything after that.

People need to stop bashing on TheStC, he's a great player. DRG arguably could've picked a weaker player, TheStC isn't exactly the weakest player, or the weakest player in the Code S. In this case DRG may have been a bit overconfident.
