And I'm back to watching at 5am instead of 4am, which thankfully has zero impact on me with my current sleep schedule. =D

Gotta disagree. Group D wins by far.

Wins in terms of what? Being the weakest or being the most competitive?

Being the weakest. The most competitive might be Group B (surprisingly).

Virus and Sangho are pretty underwhelming but I'd take fOrGG/Lucky/Brown/Huk over Squirtle/Keen/B4/Yugioh

You may be right about group B. At first glance I thought Leenock and Ganzi would be huge favorites but both of them struggle against protoss so who knows.

Squirtle/Keen/BboongBboong/YuGiOh >> ForGG/Lucky/Brown/HuK.

Virus might actually get second place if he plays at his usual level.

Lol you and I must have an enormous difference in opinion in what Virus' "usual level" is. To me he was the poster boy for players who stayed in code S for too long because of the tiny bottleneck of the old GSL format.

Virus is a low Code S - high Code A player. Unspectacular but generally solid in his gameplay besides the lack of flashy micro. His last appearance in the Up-and-Downs was odd because he screwed up very badly. Virus is fortunate to be in Group D.

IIRC, last season the up and downs were broadcast with free HD for everyone, regardless of if you had a ticket or not. Anyone know if that's the case this season as well? (I doubt it'll happen, but it'd be cool and shit.)

Why is it a surprise? Hasn't it always been MMA who completely destroy Yugioh in S?

Because the worst games of the season have been with YuGiOh. YuGiOh vs GuMiho, YuGiOh vs Sculp, and YuGiOh vs Virus were the three worst series in the entire first season. It's not that YuGiOh doesn't have skill. He clearly does, but damn does he make more mistakes than any other pro I have ever seen. Other pros will make a huge mistake once and lose, but YuGiOh constantly gets a lead and loses, over and over again. His ZvT is the most ugly and frustrating thing to watch.

It's either that or he plays so screwed up that he sucks the skill from his opponents and they play just as bad as him. I can't explain how GuMiho could look so bad when he played YuGiOh and so good when he played DongRaeGu.

Gumiho was extremely sick in those games vs yugioh.

He certainly didn't disappoint afterwards! Hoping to see FXO go far (and Leenock, Lucky, etc to progress soon)

Well that's good for GuMiho since it means his skill isn't a fluke. But it's not good for YuGiOh.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa... why is crossfire in the map pool. I thought up and down matches were supposed to signify the start of a new season and Crossfire is supposed to be gone this season

Wolf said in GSTL that Up and Downs are the last time we'll see Crossfire.

Keen and Boong are the most likely to make it out, but with the way P is playing I wouldnt be shocked if it ended up being Avenge and Squirtle.
