Last part of your statement is weird, MC definitely counts as the old generation and MMA looked super strong this tournament before losing to PuMa, he's definitely not on the curb. As for MVP, you're counting him out much too early. Nestea? You might be right.

MC, Nestea, MKP, and MVP are all pretty much the same generation >_> IIRC MC and Nestea have been around since the very first GSL, MKP since the second, MVP since the third (in terms of appearing in the tournament itself, I mean). MMA and DRG are the newer players, but even they are hardly new at this point.

As a terran you just don't force the engagement up the third's ramp knowing there are chargelots and HTs... MC didn't force the engagement up the rampe of Puma's natural, while Puma did the exact opposite in MC's third. I don't get what you mean, forcing engagements up ramps vs multiple bunkers won MC many tournaments, including GSLs.

Look at all events in 2012 and tell me which has NOT grown in comparison to the same event in 2011. Assembly, Shoutcraft, HSC4, IEM etc.
Your problem seems to be that you compare IEM Hannover to MLG Providence and Assembly 2012 to Dreamhack Winter 2011.

We need HoTS to spice things up and bring back some of the viewers. But it will never go past 140k views, LoL is a casual game with the stream in the game client which means any player can click on the stream and watch it. Starcraft has a more dedicated community but unfortunately the developer, Blizzard, loses greatly to Riot Games when it comes to promoting the game. Last GSL had 3 times more viewer than previous GSLs.:D Weird, I guess it's getting more populair in Korea, because there are less and less people playing on ladder each season. Doesn't matter too much, does it? I don't play anymore either, but i still watch like always. Pretty sure there are many people like me. HotS will surely make me play again and it will probably boost the SC2 scene again.
im the exact same i haven't played for a couple of months but i still watch a good amount. i dunno just busy and when i get a chance to watch im also generally watching actual sports on the tv at the same time

I´m assuming you mean "old generation" not "oGs" - so yeah, out with MMA. 37yr old guy who played totally bad this weekend and started his starcraft carreer in 1978.

Dat whiiiiiiine. So good with cheese. -.- Gratz MC you wrecked this week. Isn't avilo supposed to be a professional (at least, that's what I gather from his presence in the TLPD)? Kind of sad that he's balance whining in pretty much every LR thread when Protoss wins... not that his balance whine really means anything because if he wants to pull the "I'm better than you so I know what I'm talking about" card then I can find you several Protoss pros leagues better of him that disagree with him (Oz, Genius, for example) I dont know why he nevers gets banned. If i did the same whine over and over like he does, i would be long gone by now. Well, professionals get preferential treatment, and understandably so, since they dedicate their lives to the game and are a core aspect of the SC2 community.
Except for the fact that I never heard of someone called avilo.

SC2 is in a good place. Might not be the number one right now, but who the hell cares.
People seem to always want to complain about anything -_-

I just want to say, look at the amount of big tournaments there are for starcraft then look at the amount of big tournaments there are for LoL.
LoL is a good game that a lot of people enjoy. Same for starcraft. The main difference is if i want to watch a starcraft tourney there is usually a rebroadcast of a us timed one. Or i can watch gsl multiple days in the week. IPL have showw matches, team leagues, big events. Then you have the MLGs.
If i had to wait even as little as 2 weeks between tournaments i'd probabaly watch every single one of them and make a point of it. But since i can pick and choose tournaments/games that i want to watch daily i dont watch every tournament.
LoL isnt in that same situation (at the moment). But having other games at a tournament having the big influx of LoL viewers at a tournament is a great thing. It helps these tournaments with their sponsorship/funds etc which in turn helps starcraft. So i really dont see how people can see having league of legends or ANY other game at a tournament a bad thing.
The olympics isnt worse because it has Athletics, cycling, swimming etc. Gaming tournaments arnt worse because they have Sc2, LoL etc

Actually, it is number one of tournaments and prize money overall.

Free stuff, now the crowd makes a noice.

Just because you never heard of someone doesn't mean they aren't a professional. There are plenty of players that I'm not familiar with that are on teams like Dignitas or Mouz since they aren't part of the "main" line up.

MKP was in same finals as Nestea MC won a GSL before MVP DRG rose up roughly the same time as MMA
