What did those Broods do? He didn't really do anything with them aside from getting them on 150 supply.
He needed to make a move to secure more bases or you'll get starved thats how Antiga is if you don't get off 3 bases you're digging your own grave. The most the broods did was secure a shaky 4th.

stephano lost because polt caught him off guard with his siege tanks in the fog. he lost 30+ lings there (upgraded 2-2 lings). 30 + lings are capable of changing a game. if he had scouted with 1 or 2 lings game wouldve been different

If Polt had gone for hellion marauder, Stephano would have looked like a genius, but the casters could clearly see that he wasn't, so the opening just looked really weird.

Polt massively outmicroed/outplaid Stephano.
Game was close because :
1). Polt didn't expect broodlords from stephano.
2). Since the ghost nerf, there's no real counter to infestor/broodlords
other than outmaneuvering your opponent.

New tech level always throws up the advantage, polt stayed on his tech level for a long time to secure an advantage, stephano teched to use the time where no conter to his tech was out, to regain the advantage. Rts games work that way. Though starcraft was always good at hiding the tech advantage.
