Well at least Destiny discovered his weakness this tournament. Drop defense, work on that and he should be pretty solid.

It's not drop defense, it's his multitasking that's extremely poor. Unfortunately there's not much you can do to improve that when you've played/practiced as much as destiny has.

Multitasking isn't some special skill that you either have or you don't. It is just something that takes practice like anything else.
You must have to have it

I'm sorry but the B stream seems really lacking in any commentating depth or anything. The primary stream is great, but I'd love to see some players on the secondary stream like a lot of tournaments are doing these days. Kibbelz just talks constantly but the other guy has basically nothing to offer, I'm not keen on either. Anyway great tournament so far

I want to see a Protoss who can consistently beat Stephano. Its basically just frustrating to watch any tournament with him in it and cheer for the Protoss. I always get pumped up when the people I cheer for win, but its just pure absolute sadness watching Stephano.

MC

Probably PartinG, Creator and some other Code A+ Korean Toss'

Stpehano would bitch slap them Im 100% sure. What I saw Stephano do to the top protoss on the korean GM was unbeliveble. He was just crushing them.

Ladder ≠ Lan, just sayin' also shout out to Stephano's 0-4 record against MC

Also, not hatin' I think Stephano is an amazing player but people over hype his ladder play and his ZvP when he has played against very few Korean Protoss at lan.

Technically it is 0-5, if you include BlizzCup

Yeah, Stephano isn't that great in terms of the top 32 in Korea, protoss or not.

I'd give any Code S protoss at least a 50-50 chance against him, and MC and Genius are strongly favored against him.

The way PvZ goes right now is totally focused on third bases. If Protoss goes for a nexus first or forge expand the zerg is going to get a free hatch, which I feel is already just about game over. Protoss need to figure a way to deny that third or get a third up themselves. Not sure what happened to three gate sentry heavy expands, I think they were pretty good because you can force the game to be 2 base vs 2 base. I feel like Protoss should experiment with getting hallucination for a push with the heavy sentries with an immortal or two and hallucinate a bunch of immortals maybe?? : )

Not really, Stephano is just pretty much unbeatable in PvZ

Non-Korean PvZ anyway.

Genius would crush him in PvZ though I think

Both MC and Genius would slaughter him. Other than that, I don't know of any Protoss who I would confidently put against Stephano. Oz was beaten by him on ladder a few times... Parting, maybe?

I think most korean toss would beat stephano. I'm still not sold on stephano's zvp. It only looks good because of the competition he faces. To me his zvp is untested against top protosses.

Watch his replay pack from the korean GM league and then come back

Thanks, but I don't need to watch ladder games as that's not much of an indication of anything really. Tourney play is when people play seriously. Foreign toss just play too passive against him and let him get away with being greedy. Korean tosses would punish him for that.

In Korea top masters/GM, ladder play is actually a fair indication. Sure, people don't test out their sneaky new builds, but other than that the standard play is bloody competitive.

a bo1 is much different than a bo3/5/7 though.

But numerous Bo1s against the same opponents on a variety of maps - that is more similar.

Am I saying that Stephano is some Zerg god? No. What I am saying is that he, along with Naniwa and maybe Huk on a good day, is the only real hope foreigners have against Koreans.

Eh, when Idra isn't herpa derping too hard I'd toss him in that group. Only hard part is trying to get Idra not to herp derp =[

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think pushes like that are as viable because the maps are so much bigger now.

Its becuase they dont understand how a foreigner player can do this without korean training. Stephano got so many koreans fans in the short time when he was in Korea.Play XP was goign crazy about him. All the best Koreans have sayd so many times Stephano is easy a code S player but still people cant belive it.

Koreans say they respect tons of players they can beat. Hell, plenty of koreans have said that they respect idra in the passed and then have gone on to roll him. It's called professionalism and being humble.

that post was about the only sensible one, the rest of them were considerably less complimentary to stephano than saying MC and Genius are / would be heavily favored against him

No one said they would roll him ezpz, no one is denying that Stephano is Code S caliber. Stop making things up to support your terrible arguments and bias.

PlayXP was going crazy about him because he looked to be the first legitimate challenge to Korean dominancy ever since Jinro's stint in Code S a year ago. Not because he was the best thing since sliced bread.
