If the numerous instances of red text in this thread weren't clear enough, it's time to simmer down, and think before you post. |

Hardly worth the "grow up kids" comment. The pot calling the kettle black, here. You're being equally antagonizing: "Did you even read the posts you were quoting?" None of this drama would have happened if people were just a little nicer, you know, like normal people in the real world. It was just a question. His post had nothing to do with what was quoted, I am legitimately curious as to whether he read the posts or not

Wow, a lot of this thread has no amount of logic whatsoever. Stay strong inControl, you're a classy guy. Incontrol is a public person. He has lots of eyes on him every day. It's kinda stupid to not expect to be judged and it's not like people are trying to get their nose into his intimate life. They just process the information about him available on the internet and express their opinions. If he can't deal with it he should stop appearing everywhere. And this is available for every progamer out there that complains about the community commenting about what they do.
Who says he can't deal with it? Seems to me it's just the fanboys that can't.

Did you read his comments or just thought to jump like a brave fanboy and defend him?
|
I'm not a fanboy, and I'm only defending him because I thought he wasn't, but if he actually WAS doing that, then I completely take it back.
I only read the past few pages and I didn't see anything there, sorry. Can you tell me where it is?
EDIT: nvm, I checked and it's around page 20, I take it back, I guess incontrol WAS the one who couldn't take it :o

Ok, respect for admitting it gg
|
Well yeah, like I said, I'm not a fanboy, just defending him because I didn't want him to be lumped together with what the fanboys were saying, but in this case he should be.

The thing that I'm most curious is how fast the hate would clear up if iNcontrol just stopped trying to be a player. Do you think people give a shit if Day9 or MrBitter or DjWheat or even Artosis play a BAD game (names chosen from the "personality" people of SC2, I know at least DjWheat is LOL bad). Or if those guys are in a horrible slump? Of course not. The problem remains that iNcontrol wants (gets) the exposure of all the big names in commentary and wants to be an elite player as well.
Fact of the matter is the hate comes from how he plays the game, not how he talks about it. And his value in the scene comes from how he talks about the game, not how he plays it. It's like impossible to tell someone to give up on their dream (pretty obviousy he doesn't wanna be a full time caster/analyst or he already would be a very good one). But if he ever gives up his attempt at being a progamer the hate he's getting will fade so fast.
Maybe he's doing it on purpose though. The most polarizing dude on his planet (AKA idra) is his team mate so any angst that incontrol deflects is probably gonna land on idra lololol. Good team guy.

Or if some people here weren't arrogant and ridiculous enough to think their opinions mattered in the slightest. Seriously, criticizing some1 you have no relationship or affiliation to over the way they live their life and over decisions that don't impact yours in any way? =_______________________________________=

Go yell at some teachers for taking summers off you idiot. i think the hardest part of your job is that thousands of people sit down and analyze every part of your life. i bet if a thousand people sat down and scrutinized the people who criticize, they would get some empathy real quick. Kinda like a..... Sports athlete. Just kinda comes with the territory, always has. i think inc. is a bit different from a lot of professional athletes, in that we have access to his entire life. the barrier is so little it might as well not be there. guys who play in NFL, NBA, NHL, we don't know what they're doing on their days off, or in the offseason. we don't know a damn thing about their personal lives. on the field, we know everything. but off the field, most of the contact is done through the press. inc. has almost total transparency, which is something other athletes don't have. how would you feel if thousands of people knew what you were doing every day, when/where/how you proposed to your gf, etc. food for thought What a horrible post. You think Incontrol's private life is more public than Tom Brady or Kobe Bryant (or any pro athlete worth noting)? EL OH EL. Give your head a long, firm shake. Frankly it's starting to get incredibly frustrating reading and hearing incontrol constantly remind us how much he gives to the community and how he only gets hate in return. It sucks that it's getting this way because he's actually a smart, funny guy; but the fact remains the community supports his lifestyle 100%. There are guys out there who are more talented and grinding way harder that are getting no fan fare whatsoever and sure as shit no bank because they're not "chosen" by the community. This goes for players/casters/organizers/whatever else. It's really hard to watch this unfold and I hope incontrol is careful with these rants because if he starts to lose his fanbase its lights out for him. It's not like he's idra or HuK and if he pisses off the community he can just go win an MLG and smooth it all out. Incontrol's fan base aren't the ones sitting here trolling him disagreeing and arguing with someone isnt trolling. i hate how no one uses the word correctly. Except for the fact that if you read some of these posts it is clearly trolling for many of them. And do the rest really need to make comments all the time? You don't see it done on nearly the same level for other players like Nony etc.

Your point wasnt just that theres other players that are better than him, it was that theres other people who feel like they deserve his spot, that he is "privileged", implying that they might deserve it more than him. the other part of my post was more of a rant about people in this thread (and outside of this thread) in general, not directly directed at you, although I can see how it might look like that.
