MMA isn't 'far better' than the other players in this group, marginally is a fair assessment though. They're all pretty skillful players, although Puzzle and Oz are a bit hit and miss at times.

Strange that MMA isn't better in the PvT matchup as his drop play is pretty much unrivaled. He also has a ton of weird aggressive builds that can outright win him games if either of the P open too greedily, will be an interesting group for sure.

I suspect it's just lack of practice. For a long time, PvT was either basically non-existent (in GSL at least) or else revolved around trying to 1base your opponent before they 1based you. There was no reason for MMA to practice TvP macro games, and that combined with the lack of truly successful SlayerS Protoss (Puzzle is hit and miss) makes it harder for MMA to get reliable partners.

Also, it's quite hard to have a clear game plan. In TvZ, you want to try and prevent a 3rd base and make marines cost-efficient, kill drones etc. In TvT, depending on which style (bio, mech, biomech) you will have clear objectives. But in TvP, it feels like the objectives are really dependant on the situation and nobody has developed a truly successful "standard" which is elegant enough to hold up as a standard.

I have no idea whether that's a game design issue or not, just my thoughts on the matter.

Seeker I forgot to mention.

I want to thank you for the work that you put into these. It had been a while since I woke up at 2:00 AM to watch GSL but that's what I found myself doing the night of the Foriegner's Fall from Grace.

I woke up groggy, and not really with it, and to my dismay I saw much had changed since the last time I watched GSL live. Thanks to your OP I was able to get all the dual streams stuff worked out.

So kudos!

Seeker trying to create his own curse <3
This is too hard to predict. MMA is bad vP, but not that bad and not with 2 weeks of vP preparation.
Supernova is good but could fall to Puzzle 26 gates push on 2 bases. But Supernova should 111 or variation his way to ro8, that's usually what he does vP. Puzzle better include a robo in his builds :D

MMA and SuperNoVa. MMA is just too good and SuperNoVa with around 70% vP is just a beast in this group.

MMA hasn't lost a set yet this season (including gstl, counting his 3-0 as a set) I am very surprised people still say his vP is weak, his last high level vP since he beat Oz in GSTL was when he lost 2-3 to Oz in GSL November ( he did play Nani, but I'm not counting that )

MMA and SuperNoVa eZ, Oz is good, but i can't see him beating either of those players.

MMA is damn good, but these other guys are pretty scary too.

MMA and ??? will advance imo. Oz or Supernova, slightly towards Supernova.

Huge fan of MMA, but his vP is easily below his other strings. Hopefully he can take out Oz first game, and be fine against Supernova (Seriously though, who beats MMA in TvT aside from Polt?). His vP tends to be a bit more all in than the other styles.

Damn, dat stackage in this group. I hope one P gets through (Oz mostly; for some reason I think Puzzle is going to get destroyed today x.x), but never underestimate the power of GomTvT. Supernova and MMA likely to advance but not without a good fight.
