Would love a MKP vs MC finals, but it would require either them both to come first or both to come second in their groups for it to happen. Sadly don't think it's likely.

True, but stranger things have happened (as recently as last night) than MKP and MC placing second in their groups. With Jjakji and DRG in their respective groups... It certainly could happen.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

This.

The supposed best player in the world should not get knocked out in the Ro16.

At least we still have MC, Nestea, and MMA to look forward to.

Unless I'm missing something this is only the second time MVP has been knocked out of a tournament short of the Ro4 since the end of July 2011 (the other being the first AoL event that no one seemed to take seriously).

In the meantime he was:

MLG anaheim champ
gsl august champ
gsl october runner up
blizzcon champ
mlg korean invitational champ
mlg providence top 4
AoL team ace champ
gsl november top 4
WCG korea champ
WCG champ
Blizzard cup top 4

pretty insanely consistent.

Ok, cool.

He still shouldn't have gotten knocked out of this group, losing 2 Bo3's to a guy with a 47% TvT win rate.

Even players like Flash in BW don't always make it deep into these smallish bracket tournaments :/

And maybe Gumiho just...got better? Or MVP just isn't playing that well atm? I don't see how MVP not making it to every damn semi final means anyone can't enjoy the GSL.

I can easily see why MVP would struggle with a terran player like Gumiho, he makes a lot of unpredictable moves you dont see other players normally doing.

However, I think MVP got a little too much goin to his head and way underestimated his competition.

Listen all these guys saying MVP this and MVP that, its clear he was just playing awfully compared to what he usually plays like. Even the best have bad days, and everyone knows hes had wrist problems for ages that were bound to catch up to him at some point. As for all the terrans rooting for MMA, what about Jjakji? so underrated...

Wish MVP came 4th instead. There would have been a possibility for ForGG vs MVP. MVP would likely shit on him but still, I'd of been hyped.

If NesTea gets eliminated too we may see some new faces in the GSL finals again. Wouldn't that be awesome! Or more awesome, if MKP actually won a GSL :D!~

I looked several times, but could you tell me where in my posst I said MVP sucks?

The post I originally quoted was about how MVP being makes the tournament less exciting, I wasn't saying that MVP is bad.

Yes, the best player in the world getting knocked out in the Ro16, IN MY OPINION, should not happen and when it does it makes the tournament less exciting and brings up the question if he still is the best player in the world.

Hop off my dick please, I wasn't saying MVP sucks.

It would take a lot more than that to bring his consistency as the top player into question.. Flash didn't make every semifinals that he entered but nobody would consider placing another player at the top of Brood War. There are players that can take games and even sets off of him but it takes more than that to dethrone him from the top especially considering him obviously playing below his standard.
