Anyone saying this would have been a 'walk over' considering not only viles strength, but FXO's own weaknesses (Lag, timezone, player schedule for gsl etc) it was a pretty close.

But we respected them for the team they are and played the likes of gumiho and asd, because VILE is a good team.

You guys saying vile aren't good need to really learn more about the teams in competitions.

I dont like this sentence at all. You basically taking all of Vile victories away. You know you got a chance to have lag so dont complain about it. I dont even understand why you bring it up it sounds like a bad excuse.

Like I wrote the post ontop of yours its a no win situation for foreigners players by beating Koreans online cross-server. But thats maybe why the koreans chose to play cross-server?

Win/win situation but really sucks for the foreigner players.

Lag is a reality. Don't ignore it just because it "takes wins away". You also conveniently this fact: Koreans typically perform more dominantly against foreigners in LAN tournaments than they do in online tournaments (obviously, I don't literally mean LAN, I just mean tournaments like MLG, IEM, or the GSL where players are in the same room and are thus on the same server). This trend has continued long enough for it to not be a coincidence: Lag is indeed a factor, and you can complain all you want about how it takes away from foreigner wins, but, hey, that's actually how it is, and if you don't want to accept it, then that's just too bad for you. With that said, Vile still made it quite a bit closer than I expected - when I saw Gumiho vs. State with the score 3-0, I expected a 5-0 sweep, but State and Illusion played very well.

This + we knew it wouldn't be a clean sweep because Vile are a good team. Look at their qualification run.

I think the sourness is more to the underestimation of Vile than anything else. Anyone who plays against them know they are capable of beating anyone.

Just watched the archived vod on twitch. Aside from the Fantasy GG timing by Illusion, his gameplay impressed me. He's really good for his age, and he's a foreigner which makes it even more impressive.

Can you blame him though? He knew he had the game won, and was so close to forcing it to an ace match against a top Korean team. He also knew that if he lost, his team was done. That's fighting spirit, not BM.

I would give Vile a 20% chance. FXO has not looked invincible at all in these online Teamleagues. During the NASL Teamleague, FXO was forced to an ace match against Reign, which Lucky barely won 2-1 against Inori.

I do not think Vile will win, but I think Vile can win, and I hope for a Vile victory. From a business and marketing perspective, Vile has already won by qualifying for the TAC2, since it has put them right into the spotlight and has given them huge amounts of exposure as a team. If they can take 2 or 3 games (or maybe even more?) games off FXO, they would have exceeded the expectations of many in the community.

Go Vile!

No, they have no

Realistically? Not a chance in hell.

If FXO throws out Gumiho, I bet someone takes him out..

Gumiho is leagues above anyone in Vile.

Utter fanboyism. Vile has no answer for Leenock, Gumiho, Lucky, or Oz. We'll be watching sub code B players versus top level Code S.

Realistically? Not a chance in hell.

^Gumiho is currently in the ro16 for Code S January, beating out players like Leenock, Idra, and Fin. You've got to be kidding bro

Yes... I am aware of his current success in the GSL, but if he loses, I will be the first to say "I told you so"...

Cool, you're one of those guys who makes really absurd predictions so that on the off chance you're right (when you're wrong 95% of the time) you can bump that one post and feel smart.

No, they have no chance.

FXO have one of the absolute best players in the world in Leenock. They also have multiple Code S level players like Oz, Gumiho and Lucky and solid Code A players like Asd, TheBest and Choya.

Even Moonan is better than most players on Vile.

Vile don't even have any player you could consider top NA players, nevermind top foreigners nevermind being able to compete against Code S level players.

They are going to get flat out destroyed.

Where are you guys now?

In case you missed it FXO won.

The format of winners league allows you to consistently send out your players in their best match-up on the best possible map for that matchup.

Add to that Vile is a full NA team playing Koreans on the NA server.

This is also the World Cup final for Vile, aside from Illusion who played on an MLG sunday this is the biggest games they've ever played where FXO are busy training for their Code S games and/or helping their teammates train for them.

If you can't take a game in your best matchup, likely your opponents worst on your map choice when he's cross server and you're not when are you going to win?

And yet FXO still didn't have to play Leenock or Oz.

Seriously? You posted earlier how Vile has no chance and would not be able to even take a game. That alone would not be a problem, as all of us have made wrong predictions. But trying to take away from vile's strong showing by using those excuses is a bit sad, don't you think? Your team won, but don't make a fool of yourself

All is ok. You played very well.

I wished you won, but still, great game. Even though I like Vile, I think you need to find a bigger team, go to Korea and kick some ass in GSL. You have a great future.

He turns 16 in March. He is one of the fastest rising stars in NA, along with Gatored. I hope to continue to see great things from him and his team for the rest of this tournament and at IEM Sao Paulo, which he qualifed for.

His game against Asd was much more impressive, imo. Lucky didn't play well at all (and I'm putting that nicely).

You do understand that he is only 15 which means he is still in high school. Would your parents let you drop out to play video games full time in Korea where you have like a 30/70 chance at making it?

Nice job Illusion, would've been so epic if you forced an ace match, but every game is a learning experience and hope you make more waves in future! Good performance today!
