I'll be honest. I liked Seeker's LR better. It had more flare and passion. This OP looks like plain jane and looks kind of depressing.
I really hope Seeker comes back as the prime LR OP. He's much more responsive to fans and posters, and he had worked his ass off to bring everyone content for the last two months or so.
What really should have happened, was the OP should have PMed seeker to ask if he could do one LR. Kind of stealing someone's position without notice is very rude.
I know it's kind of an unofficial position, but seeker's been the only one doing it for so long. This post takes him for granted. I don't like it.

whoa... he explained why he made the thread in his opening post; it wasn't to be an actual LR but as an example. i think it sounds fair enough, especially as he said so; and he was happy to have this closed or himself flamed, even.
sorry I'm just pissed of at all these people.
he could have just PM'd seeker and asked him to use his banner and section headers like I do when I make banners and I don't have time to host/update the thread.
I'm sure seeker wouldn't be against using banners of other people.

So...I got banned because I expressed my dislike towards current SC2 LR threads look, and my fondness of BW LR threads design and look. I admit, the post was formulated in a extremely trollish way, and I deserved my ban.
But I still stand by the fact that SC2 LR threads are miles behind BW ones. And yes, I understand that BW is less frequent so people have time to set up all those fancy threads. I really appreciate Seeker's and all of the others efforts and contribution to LR SC2 games, but I feel that the the LR threads just keep growing with useless text, bad formating, bad design and so on, which just doesn't look good, at least to me, and makes it a bit less exciting to open the new GSL LR thread for the first time.

The thread is clean, pleasing to the eye, and all the neccessary info is easily seen, which I think is not the case with the current SC2 LR threads.
Unfortunately, I work in mornings when GSL is on, so I won't be able to update this thread. I will leave to Seeker and others to see if any of this is good and whether they should change their approach to design of LR threads. After they set up a new LR thread for this group, this one can be locked/deleted.
And if anything, I have now realised how quickly working with spoilers and TLPD links turns into a nightmare. I have some experience with Photoshop, so even though I can't LR, I might be willing to help with designing some of the banners, if needed.
So after you get banned for expressing your dislike for Seeker's LR threads you go and hijack the thread and make it your own before anyone has a chance to say otherwise. Really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially since you can't even update it since you work. Yes I know others can share your account and update it for you but if you make the thread you update it imo.
If you made this thread so tell Seeker how you really feel about it why not just PM him about it politely and ask.

Honestly, I really like how this new format looks. I also had some difficulty navigating through the previous live threads at first, obviously I got used to them after some point but the layout really was annoying.
Despite this, I think OP could have been a bit more civil by contacting Seeker with his ideas rather than all this commotion, it was kind of a dick move. I would however enjoy it if threads looked more like this. It's neat and tidy.

Don't get so angry, he posted it because he wanted other people's opinions not as an attempt to insult Seeker.
PMing it to Seeker leaves no option for feedback and public opinion.
Fucking drama queens.

Guys I apologized for my actions.
I also PMed him to let him know how I felt. I also said in that PM that I appreciate what he did and even though this thread caused a lot of controversy, I know he did it with good intent.
I want this to drop.
I agree with Typhon. I can prevent this from becoming a big drama, and I am going to do just that.
Let's all just drop it.
And enjoy the rest of GSL

Wow, this thread has generated its fair share of drama already.
I think both members make decent LR threads that enjoy community support (I personally like odoakar's better, but that is a personal preference). But I think we can all agree that if we did not compare the LR threads to one another, we can all generally agree that both LR threads are pretty well done, perhaps not perfect, but nevertheless well done, considering that Seeker and Odoakar do not receive any compensation for their efforts.
That being said,I would hope that the community at least give Odoakar a chance, or try out the new format for a while, and guage reactions.

I did read it but he went about it in a completely wrong way. Make a thread with a poll specifically asking whether or not people prefer his LR to Seekers. He even asked in another thread with examples and people all said they like Seeker's better. The way he named the thread he was making the LR for this GRP, especially since the LR was the major point of the thread not his second reply explaining why.
He brought it into the public and the public is going to express their opinions. Should've kept it in PMs and not bring public into it hoping that they will prefer him over Seeker, as this is all what I see it as, him trying to overthrow.

Good thread, nice and clean.. I like it.
MMA and GuMiho to advance, although it would be nice to see Zenio through.

I agree with this. The Opening Post had nothing about polling the community. There was no context until the second post. Making a topic and replying to yourself is very misleading to everyone. Everyone will read the OP but is not guaranteed to read subsequent posts. Regardless of what the original intent is, the OP just came off as a bit of a jackass.

Nowhere did he ever say that he wanted this to be the official LR for the event...
You still don't seem to have comprehended what the OP wrote even though you've said you read it.

This. Should've been an Poll, so simple compared to making these huge LR's. His context and explanation for this thread should've been the very first thing people read, not the small print at the bottom.
Said my say so I'm out. Time to watch my shows and do some laundry.

what the fuck is this shit with trying to overthrow seeker exactly?
I was under the assumption that anyone is allowed to make LR threads or did something change?

Why not wait until you can actually update the LR thread in the morning? You could do it on Monday when its a holiday (in some parts of the US atleast), or do it when you don't have to work in the mornings. If you want to show how much better a thread can be (and I don't even like seeker's threads I just like that he is passionate and honest about it) show how much better a thread can be.
Seeker seems to be ok with it (though obviously it hurt him a bit atleast) so its not all bad. But honestly why make a thread when you know you can't update.

How is this thread not closed yet?

Not going to lie, this thread is really entertaining.
People getting all bent out of shape for no real reason lol

i still dont get what is wrong with this OP other than some good critics to make LR threads better hum
+1 with cleaner / simpler

people are getting mad at him because he made a thread about GSL lol bunch of cry babies holy smokes its just a thread not like he hacked teamliquids site

Ok maybe I missed some kind of dramas in previous LR thread, but what's the big deal? Seeker has his own LR thread, other people have their own styles. If one doesn't like it, make their own one, tell other people and post it before other people do it. What's the deal?
