This. Is. Awesome. Looking for Keen to roll through to the finals ^^

Also, will Khaldor be casting any of these matches or do the times conflict with GSL, I know he's not in the streamers section but I just wanted to double check.

Was just wondering about the KSL since the team games got over. This is going to be soooo sweet. StC vs Choya again, setting up some rivalries in league already? Keen vs Leenock, Jjakji vs Youngwha too much good action ^^

I believe MC will have to play from Europe, as the KSL is always live.

I'm confused by this tournament.
Is there a prize besides money?
I read the liquidpedia that the prize pool is literally 150 dollars....
What's the point of wasting so much effort on something that's literally worthless?

Will be interested to see how well Finale can do. After his 3kill against oGs against Terrans, I'm expecting him to do well against Gumiho, even if he doesn't win.

I'm working on getting the specifics for this particular event as far as prizes go, but a lot of times they do it for pride and exposure.

For the KSL in general, most players either do it to get a feel for tournaments (new players especially), or to get most importantly some exposure.

Then you get players like MC who just want some easy cash

I really dont think exposure is an issue these days. There are a million and a half tournaments around the world for starcraft 2.
99% of which has a prizepool greater than 150 dollars. If this is the best the KSL can muster, I feel that it is a travesty to the hardworking players. They deserve better!

And if they wanted better they could easily decline their invitation and someone else would fill in. The prize money is clearly not an issue to them so they accepted the invite. I don't see why you're trying to create a problem when there really isn't any. Tournaments have to keep in mind sustainability as well. Yes the prize money is lower than what we're used to but, so what? The winners of this tournament could also be playing for seeds into a Final type tournament with a higher prize pool which seems to be the norm these days.

Players were cool with it and they went ahead.

I'm not informed as to the reason Slayers and TSL are not involved, but I can certainly inquire after it.

100$ for a small amount of effort is certainly worth it for Koreans (usually 8 players only, so only 6-9 games for 100$)
considering that Code A pays very little for how much more effort is required. These special events are probably for fame and exposure, but the prize money isn't terrible at all.

The KSL just keeps getting better and better. For some reason, Parting is constantly mis-TLPD-ized.

True lost too many queens early so he couldn't do any damage during mid game. And if zergs cannot harass/damage toss mid game, they will lose to the toss ball once it gets to 200

That was a pretty cool game. Mass infested Terrans heh. No idea how True pulled that off.
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

Unlike many pro players, True actually appeared to care deeply for his Infestors and that was the game changer.

Keen sends out an scv for an 11 rax, get's scouted, and then killed by leenocks scouting drone.
leenock proceeds to laugh at Keen.

Yep, day 1 results are:

True 2-1 Ace
Leenock 2-0 Keen
Creator 2-0 Seal
Illusion 2-0 Curious
No relation to Monsieur J.

I do not understand why TSL would not enter this tournament. They need to get their players all the experience they can get! Especially with the new GSTL right around the corner. Also you would think SlayerS would enter their lesser known/less experienced players into this tournament as well. Good luck to all and hopefully we will see some new faces in the Semifinals/Finals.

Katu, I LOVE your casting. But I only see 7 VODs for the first day of KSL individuals( no STcurious). Can you please update your VOD section with all the games as I dont wake up at 5am =( ?

Also, it would be cool if you uploaded empty games for best of 3 if one player 2-0 s the other one to leave some surprise. Its really noticable in team league games when theres only 6-7 VODS then I know one team is gonna roll the other one before I even start the first game. Thanks, and keep up the great casting!

What is the prize pool for this event? There's no info about it on OP or the liquipedia page.

Is it 100$ for each match won? Same prize for the final? Thanks

Is there actually a map pool for this event or is every match going to be a variation of Daybreak/Dual Sight/Antiga Shipyard?

EDIT: Destination = Jjun, for anyone wondering.

I opened the stream, it was windowed inside a KSL banner by the observer (so the game was like 1/6 of the total screen, even when maximized), and then the banner got removed for a split second (maximizing the game screen, as is normal)... and then it said the stream is offline? x.x

EDIT: Kept refreshing and it came back up, full screen.

This is one of the good reasons for which Sage has a hard time staying in Code A. You can't just panic into cheese at every final set, and he does so quite often.

Why can't I find VODS of Creator vs Seal... :/

KatuStarcraft has none VODS of those games, only seems to be group for day 2. Russian stream has none at all. Where's the Korean stream?

Oh my God, is MC actually playing? He wins Homestory Cup, flies from Germany to Korea, gets off of the plane, and less than eight hours later plays in the GSL and beats fOrGG and Leenock, and now he's playing in the KSL? That is absolutely INSANE. And against Losira, no less.

LOL MC.

From winning a tournament in Germany to arriving in Korea with 10 hours until the GSL where he plays Supernova, ForGG, and Leenock, only to go back to the oGs house to play in a tournament against Losira. What a boss toss.

It's the special tournaments that have been prerecorded at times. GSL is live. The players sitting in the sound proof boxes didn't tip you off?

Always have terrible lag with them, and why not support Twitch that has done so much for the SC community so far?`

Seems like losira wasn't sure what MC was doing there.

MC's forcefields all go down at exactly the same time, it's unbelievable.

I still don't get why MC didn't use his DT's in game one.

Maybe he was so tired, that he forgot? Both of his games were kinda strange. Winning HSC, flying back to Korea, winning his GSL matches and then playing KSL...betcha he was dead tired. But its all good. As a MC fan I'm happy with his recent accomplishments. Even if he had won against Losira, that would have just been icing on the cake. Im satisfied as is.

I don't know it seems kind of difficult to forget you built a dt shrine even if you are tired plus you can see they're available when you use warp gates.

He may not necessarily look at the unit selection area - heck, I rarely do... I know my hotkeys, and if I did forget a DT shrine then I wouldn't even check if I have dts available.

It's not too different from forgetting Siege mode. Or two Infestations pits.

Yeah I guess it's more likely than him just choosing not to warp them in even with no spores.

When I checked on KatuStarcraft's page I couldn't find the VODs for last night games. I saw the results, but was hoping to see the full matches. Don't know if it was a mistake or what was saved were just the highlights. Looking forward to the round of 16!!!!

Oz has to play a PvZ in KSL, same matchup as his GSL match tomorrow.

I think KSL should postponed his match, otherwise he's not gonna play his best builds.

Stuff like that happens, IMSeed played MVPMonster in the first round of this tournament and guess who he'll play in Code A RO48? Yup, MVPMonster.

Ok, maybe that's just me, but I don't enjoy matches where players have good reasons not to give their best.

The Ro4 of the SCI4 with TB and dApollo is going on as well. The Ro4 consists of ThorZaIN, Stephano, Grubby and Ret so it's quite reasonable that there are less viewers watching the KSL finals.
Personally I don't mind, I'm watching both... dual monitors. :>
