I'd rate Stephano far above Idra, Morrow, especially Kas. I just don't understand what's so impressive about a guy's macro when he only masses two or three types of units, rarely harasses while playing extremely greedy, and pushes out with his entire army. It's the Bomber effect, when he masses marines without many medivacs thereby not needing much gas, and just pumps marine after marine. I'm sure the SQ is extremely high, but it's not an effective way to play. Yeah, the army looks gigantic...so what?

Honestly, I don't think there is a foreigner close to Stephano's level right now. And, I'm not even close to a Stephano fanboy.

stephano is fucking good but i thought it's still strange to see polt who's main hook is his battle control and micro barely micro his units in what is essentially an all in..

Went 3-2 against Polt for the eizo cup, even if he played from korea on eu serv, it's still a small victory !

hopefully they meet at assembly so both are playing in same conditions

That I would like to see as well because I don't believe polt would lose to stephano when both are playing under the same conditions.

I'm not so sure. TvZ is arguably Polt's weakest matchup.

Either way, I think even the most diehard Korean fans accept by now that Stephano is around the level of upper-middle tier Korean progamers (i.e. guys like Taeja, Alive, Keen, Ryung, etc.). No shame in Polt losing, especially cross-server.

No, he's like low tier Kor progamer, like IdrA, Morrow, Kas, etc, They are all around people like "avenge's" level

Taeja, alive, Keen and Ryung are far above all foreigners
EX 1: Taeja vs IdrA

i get your point but.....no.
Stephano is vastly superior to idra, morrow and kas,as for his level compared to koreans, without taking his kr ladder time into consideration(where he proved he could easily win but eh thats ladder),the only tournament we can observe is blizzard cup:
won vs hero and drg, lost vs mc and mvp.
that clearly points towards upper-middle tier.
oh btw,kas is also better than idra.

I don't care whether Kas is bterr then Idra or Idra kas

Code S > top code A > Stephano, Idra, Naniwa, Huk etc > Mid Code A > Code B > Foreigners

That's your opinion, that doesn't make it a fact. Besides we all know how volatile Code A / S is, so well...

HSC was arguably THE bad result for Stephano in january, he just came back from Korea (his plane landed hours before he started playing), eager to see his family and probably not in the mood to play but more to enjoy some quality time. Still, his result was descent. Apart from that, he crushes best europeans left and right without breaking a sweat, with a random loss here and there because you can't win everything.

And still, many say he is a hype, he is overrated, etc. Hell sure, he hasn't the level to win a GSL, but come on, his results are better than ANY other non-korean player (at least $$$ wise, and arguably palmares wise as well), he HAS shown consistensy since late summer 2011 (check his liquidpedia page) with some downs here and there, like any other players except the very best, and still he deserves the cold treatment, "sorry, not that good". I don't get it

Anyway, not really the place to remake a beaten to death argument, so wp Stephano & Polt, and thanks for the german casting, I enjoyed it and actually was able to understand some of it

I imagine that Polt, awake at 7:30 a.m. in Korea, preferred to do builds that would end the games quickly. It was uncharacteristic to see so many early pressure builds in a BO5.

What makes Stephano the best foreigner isn't the money earned, nor the APM, style, strategies, etc. It's his mental power. He just doesn't give a fuck who he's playing. All other foreigners (maybe Dimaga is an exception, but sometimes I don't get him) shit their pants when playing Koreans...

The only way you can say he is code s 100% is if he flies over and gets in code s [and by playing his way in, not getting a silly invite].

Seeing as half the players in Code S end up in Code A immediately anyway is Code S/top Code A not a bit of a meaningless distinction? Either way, to me Stephano is clearly head and shoulders above any other foreigner right now, especially with the likes of Huk, Thorzain and NaNiwa looking not quite at their best at the moment.

stephano rapes players like losira etc...

he is slightly above S-class, so he's between BW Pros like Jaedong, Flash, Bisu and Sc2 S Class (MMa, MK)
EX 1: MMA vs Flash

Good question cyclone25. I am really curious to see the final.
In fantasy proleague it is a question of skill and strategy. Obviously I am missing them ^^

Did Goody switch to protoss completely? He's just playing vs Sjow and he picked protoss... tvt was his best matchup as terran, wasn't it?

Looking pretty solid as protoss btw!
