Especially because Leenock himself was playing so well.
It's very different though. It's a disservice to compare it to MVP's because he does some cute things no one else seems to do.

Wow. I'm really surprised. Gonna check the vods!
gratz, jjakji

Just finished watching the VOD's.. what amazing games :D! And holy crap I am so happy Jjakji beat leenock so convincing! <3 <3 <3

Jjakji had multiple instances of borderline genius play in this series.

The way that Jjaki moves his army, times his attacks and expands, pulls away small groups of units (not just a medivac with 8 marines) to deny expansions, controls space with bunkers and depots, and has singular marines all over the map to spot counter attacks and mutas makes him a stronger TvZ player than either MVP or MMA right now.

lol, didn't remember that video where Tasteless actually called jjakji winning and Artosis was wrong with his call as usual

Only finals I didn't watch live and it seems this is the one I should have watched. fml

Somewhat off topic, but I am wondering where I could find the info on the music the streams used during the in between cuts. Seemed like they were playing some interesting heavy metal and hearing a cover of Judas Priests' Sentinel caught me ear and I was curious if they have song used listen anywhere.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here ... he's had one absolutely phenomenal showing against Leenock, but that's pretty much it so far as far as high-end tournaments go.
Nevertheless, I hope to see him catapult into Top 5 Terran status at least. (And I hope to see his overlord-hunting technique become a standard in the game.) I haven't been so impressed with someone's play like this since Moon's years and years and years ago.

reminded me of a starleague finals with all of the hype, production value, and specific builds

don't worry Artosis, it is the best SC2 tournament in the world

The only foreign terrans that could change this in my opinion are guys like Thorzain,Demuslim and Jinro. At the other side, we have some sick foreign protosses and zergs Maybe Thorzain but he's not particularly consistent and seems to really struggle with Z. Jinro's stuck in the Code B wilderness and given the amount of stupidly good players there are still kicking around there I'm not sure if he'll be able to break back through. Demuslim is definitely not close. Foreign Terrans just don't stack up for whatever reason, our toss and zerg are much closer to their KR counterparts. I think its reason to reventure the arguement that Terran scales best with skill :p. Its not like terrans are ripping face in Code Aeither anymore. Its just the really hot ones that are managing, I mean theres a healthy amount but yeah.
With Ganzi Taeja and Jjakji, I would say that Terran is at least doing decent in Code A.
Code A is starting to load up with so many of the other Terrans that dropped from Code S as well.

Sorry if it's been asked but I did search around and didn't see anything. I'd love to re-watch the matches from GSL Finals Tastosis casted, but the only VOD's up are the ones without the american casters speaking over it. I really would like to see the full translated version again. Does anyone know where they might be? Thanks!
edit: nevermind! I just didnt look hard enough on gomtv.

Great games, somewhat shitty maps and I still withold that Terrans have it way way more easy than any race when it comes to pushing/defending, it's just unfairly easy to spread your marines and press H, set up 5 tanks and have 2 thors. Then just micro 20 marines whilst the rest of the army stands still and your opponent has to micro his entire godamn army to attack it/stop the push.
Still, Jjakji was really good and I will not, for almost once, not shit on him even though I think Leenock is better but only by a small margain... great games nevertheless but timing pushes... ugh

You weren't the only one annoyed with Artosis calling MVP's play brute force. He's certainly more patient to wait till his maxed to kill you than other terran players but you can see his decision making throughout to cultivate that maxed army.

Don't even pay attention to someone who obviously didn't watch the finals.

I doubt it, but I'll be happy to mark your words so that we might recall them when Jjakji wins again! I doubt that as well. I'm not ready to put him top 3 terran, but top 5--okay, for now. Game 4 was too good. It's pretty amazing to see so many good moves from both players, not just one who roflstomps, like Mvp has so many times. He perfectly stims a marine and blows them up with a siege tank to destroy burrowed banelings. His control is flawless. This guy is immensely better than polt ever won. I was rooting for Leenock big time, but I ain't even mad, Jjakji is AMAZING.
As cool as it was the second time of the three times he did that was very bad. The first was with a baneling blocking the CC from landing so it was very likely to figure out where the baneling was since no zerg bothers to block on the edges instead of the center.
The second time was pure desperation after he lost that very same CC while he was pushing up to the third. He would have to destroy his entire marine army to kill every baneling up that path. Thankfully he realized the silliness in that idea after the first marine and got a raven.
The third kill was at the choke point into Leenock's main which was predictable and easy enough to spend a couple of marines on.
