I always seem to miss dreamhack because they play the majority of their games on weekdays. Whats up with that.

?? and i guy known for scv allins is top terran or what. also puma couldnt have gotten it any worse in his bracket. another tourney looking really grim for terran fans. times sure change, when only few months ago we had mass tvt finals everywhere. It's always been like this outside Korea. GSL and a few MLGs with Korean Terrans are the only place Terran wins, and even in the last couple MLGs we've had non-Terran winners. Korean terrans are just way way way way better than any other foreign terran. toss has been dominating everything except for code s. it's only at the top of code s where terrans do well (maybe the top 3-5 terrans), and it doesn't seem so as of late. maybe they are just good, not because terran is imbalanced? seeing as how they also have stellar winrates in every other matchup. I've been preaching this for a while now. Terran is not nor has it been imbalanced, it's merely been a case in Code S of a few elite Terrans who were actually just that much better than everyone else making it look like Terran was too strong. Nowhere else, even in Code A or GSTL, has Terran been dominant. People just like to blame everything but themselves for their struggles, which is the exact opposite of the mindset you should have when gaming competitively. Always blame yourself when you lose, and then look for ways to fix what you did wrong. You'll develop a safer, more conservative style of play with a better sense of when you can take risks and suddenly you'll find that the game wasn't imbalanced, you were just crying because the other player wasn't letting you get away with stuff you shouldn't expect to get away with every time. That's because foreigner terrans don't have the mechanics to play the race to its potential and make incredibly poor decisions consistently. Things like unsieging all at once, throwing drops away from not paying attention, letting macro fall behind. It's no wonder why they're not winning. Mechanically, it's easier to use warp gates or hold down the D key than it is to keep a watch on all your barracks/factories/starports. As for the matchups themselves, terran has many opportunities to be aggressive. Early siege tanks against protoss are very good and force them into playing a less optimal way. They're still not using ravens against zerg and protoss for whatever reason either. Personally, I'm of the opinion the game is pretty balanced overall and you can't say the game is wrong when so many people aren't playing the game correctly. So I guess what I'm saying is I agree with you 100% =)

Such a bad bracket for Liquid

Looking good for a protoss victory. It's almost Code S level of racial imbalance.
|
We have to root for an all-Protoss Ro8, right? It's amazing that it's even possible, I would love to see such a thing just for the novelty value.
WhiteRa vs Naama: I think WhiteRa is slightly favored, but it's close.
Naniwa vs DRG: Naniwa beat Nestea twice, and DRG's worst matchup is ZvP, so this shouldn't be too tough. I think Naniwa is slightly favored.
Genius vs PuMa: Really tough, but Genius is scrappy so who knows.
HerO vs Sheth: HerO easily favored.
MaNa vs Nerchio: Too close to call.
ToD vs Ret: The hardest P win of the bunch, I don't know how ToD gets past Ret here. This match and the Genius/PuMa match make an all-P Ro8 almost impossible. But come on guys, we've gotta have hope! You know it would bring a smile to your face.

On that note why is it that only forgien Protoss players have stayed in Korea consistently for a long time (Huk, Naniwa, Sase, ToD etc ) wheras almost no Terrans besides Jinro (Sjow, Thorzain all were in Korea for about a month) and almost no zergs except Idra (Sheth, Ret, Haypro were there for a while). How come no Terran or Zerg players have decided to go to Korea and stay there?
|
WhiteRa should be able to take out Naama, but he will likely go against SaSe then. Hopefully he can win. I'd also love to see Mana take out Nerchio. D:

He also beat DRG at MLG... so that might be a better indication of how he will do against him. :O

an all protoss top 8 would suck royally. At least for all the semifinal/finals games, watching nothing but pvp for 3+ hours would be awful from a spectating standpoint at least for me personally.

Almost? This is practically the same proportions as GSL October.

Aiur has 9 moons.
Take the value of the letters in the word Seoul (72) and subtract the value of the letters in the word Aiur (49). You will be left with the number 23.
23 is the 9th prime number.
Now do you have your answer?

Naniwa still underrated, great value. Sase has an ok value too. It's funny, that's exactly the same odd as nani vs drg@MLG last weekend.

There was some recent interview with Naniwa where he said that protoss benefits more from practice on the Korean ladder than zerg does (didn't say anything about terran.) So that might be the reason. Or... it's pure coincidence.

I must say the results are fantastic! :p

Tt.White-Ra vs eS.Naama: White-Ra should win this fairly easily.
FnaticMSI.NightEnD vs QIMSaSe: I'll be utterly shocked if SaSe loses.
MvPDongRaeGu vs coL.NaNiWa: Could go either way, but after taking out NesTea, I'm favoring NaNiWa.
EGPuMa vs MvPGenius: Genius is inconsistent to say the least, but if he plays to the level he is capable he should beat PuMa.
Ai.Seiplo vs EGHuK: Yeah. HuK.
LiquidSheth vs LiquidHerO: These two are really evenly matched. Even though they seem to meet up all the time and HerO always wins, Sheth will win this time. He has the power. He has the potential. He can do it.
Acer.Nerchio vs mouz.MaNa: Could go either way, but I think Nerchio is favored about 70/30.
LiquidRet vs FnaticMSI.ToD: This is a chance for ToD to show how good he really is. But, I think Ret will squash that chance and advance to the next round.
