Failure to do so may result in the game being counted even though it's not the correct map. •Each map in the pool may be played once per series. Maps may not be vetoed by either player. No-Shows ================ •All players should make an effort to be in one of the Playhem sc2 channels (Playhem, Playhem2..) when they are participating in a tournament, however this is not mandatory. •Should your opponent be missing, you must attempt to add them to your friends list by the character code on the bracket and message them, if they are unresponsive or offline you may contact an admin according to the following: •If your opponent is offline/unresponsive for 15 minutes after the start of the tournament OR 10 minutes after you were due to face them in any later round after the tournament began you may report a no-show to a tournament admin and be advanced. •Reporting false no-shows in an attempt to get a free win, or not taking the appropriate measures listed above may result in disqualification from the tournament. •Some exceptions may be made for players that are forced to delay their games and ask for an extension before hand so long as it's within a reasonable time frame, players should try their best to accommodate the other person if possible. Observers & Casters ================ •All Playhem Admins and official streamers MUST be permitted into your game if they request it, failure to comply with official streamers and admins of playhem may result in immediate forfeit. •If you are unsure if a caster is an official member of Playhem, you should contact an admin to ask at once. Official casters will generally be accompanied by the account "PlayhemTV". •Observers are permitted in games as long as you have the consent from both players in the game. •A player may ask an observer to leave the game at any time for any reason (suspicion of cheating, lag, etc). •If a game is started with an observer that you did not want to permit in the game, you should leave the game immediately at the start and ask for a regame. •Failure to remove an observer from a lobby when another player requests it may constitute a technical no-show as the other player may refuse to play the game. •In the event that you permit a non-official caster or observer into your game, you do so at your own risk and waive any right to dispute the game outcome due to stream/observer cheating. Smurfing & Leagues ================ •If an admin determines that you own an account that is of a higher league than the tournament you are playing in, or that you were previously in a higher league, you may be immediately forfeited from the tournament and/or banned from the site. •If you are consistently winning a low league tournament, or haven't been promoted due to Starcraft II's MMR system, you may be asked to not play in any further tournaments until you are promoted to the next highest league bracket. •An exception to this is the Open tournament, players of any league may participate and use any account regardless of their main account's ranking. •In the event that you suspect your opponent to be a smurf, you can report your opponent to an admin after playing all the games of your series (unless there is substantial and obvious evidence). •If an admin disagrees with your report, we ask that you respect the decision and accept it as a loss. We will do our best to catch any and all smurfs but we stand by "innocent until proven guilty" and go to great lengths to not ban innocent players, even if they are suspicious. Please keep in mind that in a tournament, there are bound to be players that are simply better than you. •In the event that you are playing on a secondary or new account, an admin may ask you to provide a profile link to your main account for review. Failure to comply may result in disqualification if you are under suspect of smurfing. Disconnects ================ •Disconnects in most cases will count as an immediate loss within the criteria outlined below: •If the disconnect happened in the first 4 minutes of the game and no contact between the two players has been made (scouting, cheese, etc) then the game should be replayed. Once a player has scouted their opponent, disconnects will count as a loss. -Scouting constitutes vision of any portion of the opponents base/units/structures/spawning location. In the event of one player being random, indication of their race also counts as being scouted. •If it's obvious that your victory was imminent and definitive before the disconnect happened (ie. you were finishing off his base and he had no army left), contact an admin immediately and a decision will be made on a case-by-case basis. •The player who did not disconnect may offer a rematch after any disconnect at their own discretion, this is NOT mandatory and entirely up to the player to decide. •If a disconnected player does not return to battle.net within 5 minutes, you may report him to an admin as a no-show and get a walk-over for the remaining game(s) of the series if applicable. Misc ================ •In the event of a stalemate game / tie, the game will not count as a win for either player and should be replayed on the same map. Disclaimer: Any admin can overturn or supersede these rules at our sole discretion, this will typically not be done except for extraordinary circumstances. If you disagree with any admin's ruling you may politely argue your case and ask it to be reviewed by another admin. These rules may be changed/updated at any time without notice, check back frequently to stay up to date on current rules. Last update: October 14, 2011

Very excited for this tournament! Maybe I get to cast a few of the games
|
It's going to be awesome. Remember to sign up early, else you might not get to sign up at all! Don't forget to check-in as well!
Speculation question: Think any huge names will randomly appear? Let me know in the comments >=o!
|
Very tough time to organize this tournament, with so many players over in Sweden for Dreamhack, but should hopefully still see some great players sign up!
|

Yes I do!
I already spy with my little eye a ST_RainBOw, QxGDarkCell, iSMentalist, annyungprime, and mouzHasu :O
|
I advertised the tournament to some korean teams as well, Tails and Noblesse from MVP already signed up I guess there will be more signing up before the tournament actually starts!
|
|
wowzors
im going to try hard for this
|
this will be awesome, looking forward to it!
|
Bo3 starts in the round of 64
SO MANY BO3's :D Looking forward to it, it's going to be good.
|
Wow already some top koreans signed up for this, Polt, Tails, Rainbow, Check, etc.
|
Yeah been talking to a lot of the korean teams. They usually dont know about most of the tournaments as only few of them really follow all the threads on TL. Itll be a pretty cool lineup, especially as the starting time of the tournament is not all that bad for korea (starts like 6am KST).
Really looking forward to the cast! :D

Good of you to tell the korean teams. I get the feeling that most of the Koreans who find out about these tournaments decide to keep it to themselves to stand a better chance of winning :p

Just want to point something out. On the NA and EU map pools, you put just "Antiga Shipyard" instead of "MLG Antiga Shipyard" in the spoiler.
That may throw some people off, as the official map listed in the tournament is the MLG version of Antiga.
|
OH YEA time for steven_ii_bronelli to take over :D

Hey good call man. We were originally using the Blizzard version and I guess I forgot to change these, thanks for noticing that =D I also noticed something else in the map pool that hadn't been updated:
Xel'Naga Caverns is no longer in the map pool!
GSL_Calm before the storm IS now in the map pool ^_^
Also, Khaldor will be helping cover this event alongside PlayhemTV =)
|
Looks sick! Best of luck guys !
|
There's a lot more great players signing up for this. You can see the full player list here =D

Hey I have two questions about the Playhem tournaments.. I was looking for information on the site but I could only seem to find out how to sign up for the tournaments and other less generic rules.
1.) After a win/loss do you just inform an admin?
2.) If only, say, 5 or so people show up to the Plat 10$ daily will the tournament be canceled? If it will, what's the minimum number of people needed to play? Thanks so much!

You upload your replay onto the bracket page to report a win/loss, and the minimum for a tournament to run is 4 players (though I don't think we've ever had a problem of coming close to that few before).
|
Thank you very much!
|
|
Going to be casting this really excited a lot of really good players have already signed up!!!
|
Love the site and all the work you guys are doing for us lower leagues and even the higher ups!

I will do some casting as well. And this time will actually be the first time that I wil cast in German. Lately people were asking me to do that so today will be the first time. Lets see how it goes.

Man I have a lot of respect for Playhem, they run so many quality events, and pay out right away, which most events don't even do. <3 playhem. Keep up the great work!

Thanks to Playhem for this tournament. I got to play SlayerSMin round 2 and got owned but hey it was fun haha.
|
Snute 1-1 with TSLHeart atm.

these brackets... there needs to be a way to cut the first few rounds out.... and just html is fine. sorry for ranting, but it's really infuriating
|
On November 28 2011 07:43 Nimic wrote: Snute 1-1 with TSLHeart atm.
Snute - TSLHeart 1-2
The game Snute won was awesome though. Both games TSLHeart won was bunker-rushes, 11/11 sad way to go after that great game 2.
|
Love the tourney, hate the bracket tech.
|
Love this tourney. Huge props to Playhem for running this. I hope that this get the stream numbers it deserves, the main playhem TV channel needs more viewers. Destiny has 11k tho
|
Switching between Khaldor and PlayhemTV's streams to get all the action~~~! Great job for setting this up, guys But I do think the brackets are getting pounded :<. Seems to auto-update, which is pretty cool, but I'm getting a strange name staggering effect [as in same player name starting to blur vertically]. Too much traffic perhaps?
Anyway, thanks again for organizing this
|
Yeah, the bracket is haywire. It's sticking all over the place while scrolling horizontally, taking ages to load, and constantly refreshing.
|
Have to agree... the bracket visuals are horrendous. Is it really that hard to copy from liquipedia? jeez....
|
Just tuned in and the first thing I see is Saladin using his group of Phoenixes to lift lings. ಠ_ಠ
|
Is saladin a smurf account for someone else? I've seen him everywhere this season and he's pretty good.

sorry, alternate account . He's 250-90 in GM and wasn't ranked last season.

I had the misfortune of running into polt in the second round

Lalush is such a little prick, he was outplayed from start to finish then call VIP a idiot? lol

why are these casters sucking up to destiny?
[edit] and questioning Khaldor as a caster? :\ that Unforgiven or w/e certainly is doing a good job :E

Will never like Lalush mentality. The guy rage way too much. Hell, he even maneged to get WhiteRa angry oneday. -(_-

Not true, he was forced out by the Playhem commentary team. Who're hosting a great (free to spec) tournament, but i'd prefer Khaldor above the Playhem team anyday
If Destiny doesn't get his creepspread sorted he'll be annihilated nonetheless

well destiny takes g1.

Destiny completely crushed Alive on Metal. He kept losing most of his army, but he managed to always keep his infestors alive.

yeah, bo3. i got a little bit carried away there, as Destiny obv won the first game. Just got a bit mad with removing Khaldor from the game as an unofficial caster and the little bias the playhem casters have towards Destiny
Sorry for that, but still hope that aLive wins

Aw, Polt lost to some random zerg again in a one-off.
|
Maybe he just thinks a Destiny in best shape doesnt even touch an ALive in best shape (and thats not rude, thats true...). Destiny plays good on ladder, but he often plays tournaments like ladder games and every better tournament player will crush him instantly cause its simply another game then. And jea, this is "just an 1k tourney"(1k is 1k, nice to have, bad to waste time not getting it..) but some of these dudes take every game serious and even if they dont wanna show some of their best competitive builds they just outclass Destiny because of their tournament-play experience.
No Flame against any player here, just try to write simple facts..
PS: Great Stream Khaldor, allways like your english casts
|
where are the brackets posted? i cant find them. Someone posted a link to it but its an internal server error

That's what happens when you take a quick 3rd CC and zerg can't scout it to throw up their own 3rd.

Cause he lacks of real tournament experience, thats the thing. Good ladder player, bad Tournament player. Just that simple, if there were no streams anyone would be like "Oh look, the standard Zerg. Destiny lost that game anyways, still droned up after scouting the proxy....like what did you expect to happen.

If aLive follows up with as many marines as he did then destiny needed to pump zerglings, but if aLive doesn't do that attack and Destiny pumps those lings, then Destiny is hopelessly behind in economy.

But in the end it is better to be behind in economy then just lose at that point.

Destiny fans: Think Destiny is actually a better player than aLive
The reality: aLive is a Code S Terran player, and the Infestor does not, in fact, counter everything.

Wow here is really good. Hopefully he will reveal himself after the tournament.

Holy shit Here just stomped that. What a hero.

Wtf was Alive doing, just walking around the map and tried to go directly up the ramp?

That was my whole point. You can win even if you are back in economy (more or less) but if you lose on spot it is just game over.

Terran -_-

Those forcefields were really weird, lost here the game.

wow the protoss played way better than alive still lost to it.
|
what an awesome unit controll!!
|
smurf why you no pull probes ffffffffff with better positioning that could have easily been held, some zealot warp in behind the tanks on shattered temple do wonders and he literally had every attacking unit he had clumped in a tight ball lol
|
|
This game makes me soo sad... Botches the 1st all in...Wins with the second -__- He probably needed some spalsh damage to deal with that.
|
Good last decision to instantly push after falling behind. And no, thats not common, tons of players would've tried to get the macro game running after all that.
Like the games tonight :>

Who said i was talking about balance xD, you assume too much.
|
Played perfect till after he crushed the first push, shouldnt have teched and probed so much when he knew the second wave was coming, should have just warped in 10 zealots and he flew is warp prism with 2 immorts over the army and it got sniped by marines. Should have flown it in his main to the dge and dropped behind them there......but it still hurts seeing how badly he outplayed aLive and still lose
|
The idea of those FF was to create a safe zone for the immortals to land and snipe the tanks. Sadly the marines slipped in anyway due to a hole or 2, and them being small and fast. The protoss player probably did not expect stim to be done.
|
Dont like the toss play here, he puts himself in the "all or nothing position" ...
|
rage quit ? not a korean for sure lol

No gg. Nobody gging Alive today lol
|
Here just in this tournament to test some builds, but still a pretty good player, i guess

You don't need to assume to reach that conclusion.

Playhem needs better brackets -.-a

They're a little clunky but I haven't had much of a problem. You just drag it to the side to zoom in or out.
|
Why doesn't the caster use the middle mouse scroll... -_-
|
Check left Prime and joined eSahara...
|
Amazing play by Check. So solid under heavy heavy pressure
|
Killer and JYP left TSL?
Did I hear that correctly?

killer and jyp just left gsl? edit: TSL?

WTF!! Why did killer leave TSL- he was team captain and a founding member...

Hate to be such a stickler, but the long breaks between games really needs to be cleaned up. It makes tournies like this really a headache to watch.
I know there's a multitude of excuses to me made on behalf of these long breaks, but I'm sorry, the average viewer gets a headache and leaves. Organize organize organize!

Nothing can be done about this in a live event, there's no choice other than to wait for a game to finish. It's not a matter of organization or cleaning up.

Huh. I really feel like our admins do an extremely good job at reducing downtime during our events; I've honestly never had any complaints about it before. We'll try to step it up one notch further though xD

Clide, JYP and Killer left TSL, ouch.
|
THX for this awesome event Neeb and Playhem! Cheers for ya! :D

I'm loving the cast so far Khaldor, although I only tuned it two sets ago. You've improved a lot over time and it's nice listening to a shoutcaster in the wee hours of the day that is calm and composed, and doesn't scream or yell his throat out.
Keep up the good work!

I hope it's okay if I use these rules for my monthly Rookie Cup. <3

PM me with an exact breakdown of when you think there was too long of a break. Since I was the one doing the stream and setting up the games I would love to know where I could cut some time off here and there.
Edit: Placements: #1 TSLAlive-525$, #2 RGNArtist-325$, #3 Check-100$, #4 Noblesse-50$

I might be confused, I'm not talking about breaks as in, breaks where there are just pauses with nothing happening, I'm talking about the long breaks between games while we're being entertained by the commentators.
Commentators bring alot the games, but there's only so much they can do with these long non-game-time stretches.
I know for about 15 mins of the hour I watched, it was a lobby screen with the prize pool listed in the bottom right hand corner, with commentator voice over... These are the pieces I thought needed trimming.

i watch most of the games. good stuff. thanks again
|
was an awesome with a REALL SICK player pool !!!!
gogo playhem awesome daylies and now this - hope they are going to get really big and we get to see more awesome trouneys like that
|
that was really a nice event. the player bracket might not be made to handle so many players though. ^^" too bad I couldn't follow it till the end, but when I'll have the time I'll definitely watch the vods of the games I missed.

Has anyone got a bracket of, say, top 64/32? I can't open the full bracket, have tried several times in different browsers and on different PCs
