Dox Cup #1 was a $500 tournament hosted on the SEA server, showcasing over 150 of the best players from the South East Asian region going head to head.

Just over 4 months later, this event sweeps around once more with a bigger prize pool and an interesting new format. Additionally, the tournament will be played on the NA server this time around!

+ Show Spoiler [Ace] +

Ace (StarTale)
Jung Woo Seo is widely known as one of the most entertaining Korean eSports personalities. This Protoss star took 1st place in the $25,000 NRG Hardcore Gamer Tournament in Sydney, Australia - less than a month after winning the IEM Season V World Championship in Germany. After several appearances in the GSL Team League, Ace has shown the world he's not afraid to bust a move to sweeten a victory!

+ Show Spoiler [Dimaga] +
[image loading]
Dimaga (mTw)
For the very few who weren't already familiar with the Ukrainian Brood War legend, Dmytro Filipchuk has showed the world on numerous occasions throughout Wings of Liberty exactly why he's one of the most feared Zergs out there. He captured the hearts of many during the GSL 2011 World Championship, being the first person in history to defeat Lim Jae Duk (NesTea) in a televised Zerg mirror.

+ Show Spoiler [Grubby] +
[image loading]
Grubby
Even people who haven't ever watched a single professional WarCraft 3 series are familiar with Manuel Schenkhuizen. This Dutch WarCraft 3 Legend has accumulated over half a dozen world championships under the Orcish banner - and now brings that experience with him to StarCraft 2. In fact - just a few days ago, we saw Grubby defeat Dimaga 3-0 in his own invitational tournament! Might we see these two players go head to head for a revenge opportunity? We can only hope!

+ Show Spoiler [GuineaPig] +
[image loading]
GuineaPig (MVP)
Although Kim Hyun Tae doesn't (yet!) have any championships to boast, this talented Korean has showcased some fantastic games during the GSL Team Leagues as one of the very few players brave enough to play iRandom Random on TV! Many people will attribute the popularity of this player to the hours of trivial facts delivered by GSL Commentator "Artosis". Definitely a dark horse in this event!

+ Show Spoiler [iNcontroL] +
[image loading]
iNcontroL (Evil Geniuses)
If you're not familiar with the name Geoff Robinson, then there's a pretty good chance you've missed out on some of the most epic, hilarious and entertaining panels and events throughout Wings of Liberty. This charismatic American is widely appreciated as one of the pillars behind State of the Game - bringing both sharp humour and intelligent analysis to every show. Many will also recognise iNcontroL as the face of NASL Season 1, along with various other appearances at IPL and of course MLG. As he doesn't have any major wins under his belt yet, this Protoss star will be looking to shine this December.

+ Show Spoiler [Jinro] +
[image loading]
Jinro (Team Liquid)
The Swedish Gorilla Terran. Jonathan Walsh. Who can forget that iconic moment we saw him use Mech against Protoss in the GSL? But it wasn't just any Protoss that felt the wrath of the man they once called FrozenArbiter. It was Jang Min Chul - the undisputed world champion at the time. Following this success, we've seen the MLG Dallas 2010 winner rise and fall through the ranks of the GSL several times. Today marks the 1 year anniversary since his last major championship - is it time we saw another?

+ Show Spoiler [qxc] +
[image loading]
qxc (FXOpen)
His name is Kevin Riley - you might have heard of him. The Bandanna Terran became an overnight star in Korea as the world watched in awe. One by one, the entire Incredible Miracle team fell like dominoes to this American legend back in the first season of the GSL Team League - including the Terran many regard as the best player in the world - Jung Jong Hyun (MVP). Qxc has popularised many of the staple builds in todays metagame, whilst also pioneering a wide range of unorthodox styles. Will we see another legendary Ka-me-ha-me-ha from this hilarious character?

+ Show Spoiler [ToD] +
[image loading]
ToD (FnaticMSI)
If the name Yoan Merlo looks familiar, you were probably a pretty big fan of the WarCraft 3 scene. "YoanM" stood alongside Grubby amongst the elite "4 Kings" team, securing himself numerous top finishes in global events including Blizzcon, WCG and CPL - to name a few. Known for his impressive micro, this ex-Human player has really started to show that he is one of the strongest PvP players in the world - taking first place in numerous global events over players such as MaNa, Adelscott, Alicia and Kamikaze. Currently residing in Korea, ToD is training harder than ever, and we'll see just how much that has paid off for him on December 4th.

This event will be posting a prize pool of over $2,000 cash, with hardware also being thrown in by additional sponsors (more info soon!).

Two concurrent live streams will operate throughout the event, providing coverage of as many games as possible - allowing you to keep up with your favourite players!

Keep an eye on this thread closer to date for any changes in the line-up (2 of the invited players are still tentative) along with prizes, brackets and stream info !

As the registrations are gradually coming to a close (less than 10 spots remaining!), I'm pleased to announce the stream arrangement for this weekend.

Dox Cup #2 Official Streams
Stream 1: ACLPro (twitch.tv/aclpro)
As the guy behind the event, I'm excited to share my excitement and explain the format to the stream viewers. Additionally, I'll be giving away some awesome Tt eSports prizes to our (Australian/New Zealand) viewers - including an autographed White-Ra T-Shirt! (See below for more information.) As for my co-caster: Maynarde has really caught my eye recently with his great tone, pace and enthusiasm. I'm very happy to have him along for the ride!

Stream 2: KhaldorTV (own3d.tv/KhaldorTV)
Thomas "Khaldor" Kilian needs no introduction to the SC2 community. With a wide range of event commentary (including the GSL!) under his belt, and more fans than you could throw a nuke at, I cannot express how pleased and honoured I am to have this German star on board! He may also have some special guests on board to cast with him...

Stream 3: Meatex (twitch.tv/meatex)
As a long-time resident of Seoul, Korea - this Australian commentator will ensure that you guys don't miss a single second of the action! Streaming in glorious HD resolution, Meatex will be providing a backup stream for all of the biggest matches!

Stream 4: OrigineTV (own3d.tv/live/119157 - French)
Having streamed various large events (including the FXO Invitational/KotH, Grubby StarCraft Series, 4PL and even MLG), I'm delighted to have these guys on board. They'll be providing a high quality French cast for the Sunday event, so huge thanks to OrigineTV!

Ohmygod I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU! <3 I was just thinking about putting together an LP page for the event and bam... wonderful people have already beaten me to it.

The prize currency is AUD.

On the subject of prize money - it's now over $2,500 as new sponsors have come on board. More info about them soon!

Tt eSports Giveaway
As mentioned above, I'll be giving away some great prizes, courtesy of ThermalTake eSports throughout the duration of the event. These prizes will (only) be awarded to residents of Australia and New Zealand in the form of quiz questions during the live stream. Keep in mind that this opportunity will only be available on the ACLPro stream!

Nice to see the giveaways! I will be tuning in but unfortunately will not be eligible. Does it count if I want to move to Australia?

Hahaha, it has more to do with the fact that the local Tt eSports division is only willing to ship that far.

Unfortunately due to his success in reaching the NASL Season 2 Finals, Dimaga won't be able to participate.

However... an equally formidable Zerg from another shore will be taking his place...

^^

No need for that man, incontrol is awesome. You should watch him stream sometime, he has some pretty impressive games and I think you're selling him abit short.

viOlet is a really strong addition to the field though, but makes it all the more interesting as the stakes are raised. I'm rooting for our SEA men. (<-- on purpose.)

Excuse me? How many times have you beaten iNcontroL in a tournament? It's not a case of not being able to get anyone else - I specifically approached him as one of my favourite American players. There's enough ridiculous hate threads over at reddit, keep it out of here please.

Hahaha, yeah... I've had this scheduled since July and I was devastated when I saw the NASL schedule pop up. Oh well, what can you do! I'm just grateful to have such talented players making an appearance in the event.

It is Sunday, Australian time. I suspect all the walkovers are due to confusion with the timezone.

Lots of the missing players are Korean or in Korea, and they share a similar timezone to Australia so it is Sunday there.

iNControl's a total Australian supporter, don't even worry about it.

Such a great event, guys! Most exciting SC2 tournament for SEA so far! The number of casters/streams and the quality coming out of their amazing, hardworking mouths is incredible. Everyone involved should be incredibly proud, and all players involved thanked for supporting a great SEA initiative <3

ToD and GuineaPig unfortunately misinterpreted the time, arriving a little bit too late.
viOlet's management also got messed around by the time difference, which resulted in viOlet signing up to play in the Playhem Event instead.
Yang also chose to attend two tournaments at once, whilst Jimdiddy had a sudden emergency, forcing him to pull out at the last minute.
Qxc attended, however was forced to forfeit after suffering repeated disconnects and bad latency.

P.S. On the most recent SOTG, iNcontroL threw a subtle hint towards Artosis, suggesting that he was one of the easiest players to deal with in a tournament atmosphere. I gotta say, this is 100% true - he was an absolute pleasure to have on board. Much love to Geoff. <3

Really fun event! Shame about the walkovers and byes (and the fact they didn't favor me T.T) but it was great! Had a good chat to Ace about my ZvP too . Did much better than expected and got over nerves so that's a big up for future tournaments.

Thanks to Dox + the other casters, admins and players for turning up :D/

Trying out the whole Admin thing was pretty intense day 1 with everyone. Luckily, we had an awesome Admin group to handle 100+ results returning at once hahaha. I have to say aside from the unfortunate no shows due to all of the said reasons, it felt like everything went pretty well. There's a lot of waiting involved in the lower brackets for those that just recently move into there from upper bracket I found. I'm not sure if that can be helped, but every player was very patient and well mannered understanding the situation. Cheers to them!

As far as I know, casters had continuous games up until the slower part of the tourney where there would literally be 2-3 streams in the final sets. I'd like to thank that casters for their hard work to help get the games out to everyone.

Overall, I got a lot of positive feedback from everyone involved in the tourney. I passed any and all comments onto Dox. The next Dox cup will definitely continue to best the last!

Thanks Dox for letting me help out. I look forward to the next event.
