Oh wow this new format makes GSL much much harder to stay into (both code S and code A), one bad performance/unlucky/metagame shift and you are basically screwed for your esports career.

Wait, does this mean the GSL finalist curse is broken by GOM?
Sure.

Let Jinro pick for Huk again! Was fun last time!

Sadly Jinro was at Code A qualifiers, where he lost his last set 2-1, I don't think he would be in the mood to stir shit up again for the lulz .

DOA is picking on behalf of Huk, provided with a list of people he wanted to play.

I wonder why he didn't let Jinro pick for him.

It went so smoothly the last time.

I think it's a bit harsh if you go 0:3 and drop from Code S into Code B in one season but other than that the new format seems pretty awesome.

Well you don't drop down right away. You just go to the code A ro48. The main reason to like the new format is it isn't at all a simple win/lose, theres a lot more room for gradients.

I might be mistaken but 0:2 in Code S and then 0:1 in Code A Ro48 and you're out. Snowbird said on IRC Ro48 is only Bo1.

woah woah they can't do a Bo1 in a single elim stage of a bracket as important as Code A, that's crazy

12:24 <+gom|snowbird> becuase for this season ro48 is gonna be bo1
12:24 <+gom|snowbird> so you go 0:3 and you are code s -> code b

Yeah feels a bit crazy lol.
It can't be helped. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jinro had code A qualifiers and it was possible they could have been going on right now.

He was already out by then though

What's up with Huk missing out on this?

According to Huk, he wasn't given sufficient notice.

According to John, he's lazy.

I think it's pretty clear Huk doesn't care for this anyway. I'm not sure i could sit in a room for 2 hours not understanding a word, and then get given shit for reading a book to help pass the time.

IMO the only correct option for foreigners is to put them behind the desk with Doa etc. That'd be super entertaining too.

After sitting here looking at the graph, I have decided it is actually awesome. If your favourite player gets knocked out you can still follow them through. The format will very quickly, as in within 2-3 season, be able to boast everyone deserves to be there.

If you get cheesed out, have a bad game or just have a build order loss. You can still, in multiple ways sometimes, make it back to code A, code S etc... really hard for the best players to get stuck in the lower leagues.

If Code A Ro48 isn't Bo3, then yeah I see that as a format problem.

That's so bad.

So for Code A players you finally make it, lose a single map and are right back out? That's crazy.

Time to complain

Yes but if for example Jinro gets stuck in some long TvTs than he cant make it and the person Huk gave list to no longer can pick for him and Doa would have to do it anyway. SO, Huk just had Doa do it.

Hmm the new format is actually pretty good, not too easy to fall out of code a or ode s and not too hard to actually get in, in the old format it was way too easy to drop out of code s and too hard to drop out of code a
