Describing every non-Korean as a foreigner is almost a defeatist attitude. Hell maybe if SC was invented in Korea it would make more sense. But SC:BW and SC2 were developed in the West, why should superior status via terminology be ceded to Korea? Idk, maybe because they embraced BW to a level that made SC actually recognized as an esport? Maybe because they actually made the esports scene what it is and we're still catching up? God, why can't people think logically?

When I learned, without much practice, I was able to do it within 2 minutes. Obviously, this guy has practiced a lot more, so he can do it muccchhhh faster. It's still fun to see these guys do it yeah i know how to do it but not that fast ... like 9 seconds.. there are a set of algorithms but now when i do i am not following those algorithms all the time like R' D' R D etc ..my hands just do it now but doing in 9 secs or in less than 1 min is pretty amazing to me

Players from Eastern Europe are west of korea but are no means considered "Westerners" by any means. That title doesn't technically fit anyone in the eastern hemisphere.

I thought "Westerner" was a European-centric term...since they had to travel West to get to North and South America, and East to get to Asia. Doesn't make much sense to call Europeans "Westerners" using their own terminology.

But SC:BW and SC2 were developed in the West, why should superior status via terminology be ceded to Korea? I'm not sure players from Ukraine, South America, etc. would consider themselves Westerners, but "foreigner" was used in BW because the BW eSports scene was almost entirely localized in Korea. The Korea vs. non-Korean dichotomy is also a relic from BW, since foreigners in BW were basically "outsiders" or "amateurs" to the pro scene in Korea.
