He's most probably going to get smashed by MC (and probably even by HerO before that). Um did you see NASL? Puma beat MC in macro games. Not to mention you pretty much just named the two builds any terran uses, so okay, he only wins because he does what every other terran does, k. He did several different builds in his matches vs toss in IEM but hey whatever its "all cause of 1-1-1" right and any other build is just "meta gaming" 1-1-1. Remember guys if you do 1-1-1 ever, all the rest of your builds are just "meta gaming" that 1-1-1 and all your victories are because of it.. Puma got in someone's head and won mind games in a strategy game, lets flame him for it herpderp. Yea, he might be not in prime shape atm, losing to idra recently, but neither is MC lately. They are both still good players. I doubt one would smash the other easily.

puma being no.1 in open bracket but potentially facing mc(3-0 his group) in round 16 doesnt make sense to me

Since 1-1-1 is so "unstoppable" ?

The matchups were not random and the position in the bracket is very terribly chosen. I mean top from pool plays top from bracket the round right after, but all the lower seeds play each other in the middle?

And there aren't any team kills to worry about. IdrA vs. Artist and than aLive. Both of them are very realistic wins for IdrA. If he can play like he did against PuMa vs. aLive, he has a strong chance there. Huk vs. kawaiirice and than white-ra. I'd give the edge to white-ra in this foursome. But huk definitely can take it as well. DeMuslim vs. Ret and than thorzain. Yea, DeMuslim has it rough. Probably a slight underdog in both. But definitely not a huge underdog in either. PuMa vs. HerO and than MC. I don't see how he loses to either of them. But what the hell is up with IPL and their map pool and map choices? The finals start on Xel'Naga Fortress and the map pool includes Crevasse. This tournament is basically set up for a terran to win. There are so many terran favored maps (crevasse, xel'naga fortress, antiga) and the starting maps are nowhere near balanced. If the finals is ZvT, I don't care who the Z and T are, the T will win. crevasse isnt even remotely terran favored in zvt. zerg gets a free third, map is huge with a ton of easy to take bases for the zerg, terran has a WIDE open 3rd and no 4th, and mutas are a fucking nightmare.

Terran can safely go CC first. Then they have narrow chokes and easy attack routes in all positions (except cross) either via air or through destructible rocks. This map is notoriously terran favored. There is a reason you saw it as the map choice for all terrans today (and will see the same tomorrow).

I mean top from pool plays top from bracket the round right after, but all the lower seeds play each other in the middle? This is just basic bracket seeding. Top from open play (#17) plays vs. lowest from pool play (#16) in round 1. Winner faces #1 vs. #32 winner. As for randomizing, they randomized seeds as such: Top 4 in each pool randomly given seeds 1-4 Second 4 in each pool randomly given seeds 5-8 etc. etc. I assume they did the same thing for open bracket players that finish with the same rank. EDIT: Not defending their system. I agree it isn't great.
