Because they have a vested interest in you tuning into their show.

You actually explained it yourself. If they announce in advance that certain anticipated matches didn't happen, some people will not bother tuning in for that night and they lose viewers.
People have been complaining about this for months since S1, but NASL has been pretty adamant about it.

Won't make viewers happy in the long run either.

Ya, but it gives viewers like me all the more reason to have no interest in supporting them, at least not for the weeks before the finals where no shows were repeatedly not mentioned to the viewers ahead of time. They clearly didn't care about our time last season, only that we were tuning in to watch, and it seems that is still the case.
I honestly don't mind just checking the results and watching the finals with all the other good content even though I watched on a regular basis last season.
Edit: Hopefully I am not coming across as overly-dramatic. I am not saying it is a huge deal or that they are terrible people, but they clearly saw that it was angering people last season and continue to do it, so I personally do not want to support that. I'm not looking to flame the NASL or anything like that.

I agree with you completely. It's disrespectful to the viewership to lie through omission about their matches. They know the matches aren't happening ahead of time yet purposefully don't inform the viewers. It's moves like this that causes me to pass over watching NASL in lieu of other plentiful SC entertainment I can be watching instead. I don't care if a match isn't going to be played but it's fairly irritating to expect a match then have it be a walk-over with no notice. I've been not tuning in and probably won't until the finals because I'd rather just not deal with feeling irritated. It's a shame since NASL seemed to have improved their production so much since season one...it's going to waste on me.

so did hero have to wait 4 hours at 4 am until demuslim no showed?

It's like advertising for a free concert by Aerosmith and a few other random less popular pop stars (with special premium front row seat for money), and then JUST before the concert start, they announce that Aerosmith can't make it when they knew weeks ahead of time. Basically, increasing their own revenue (from sponsor advertisements and other sources) at the expense of the customers is unethical, and will definitely leave them a bad rep. Good business always puts customers first, and NASL isn't really doing a good job at it.

Wtf cruncher retiring from SC2 and beating fenix who trains with probably the best team in the world ?

I definitely agree with that. I don't see them fixing this anytime soon though considering they ignored quite a few people raising this issue months back.

I believe Fenix said something along the lines of "don't expect good games from me. The lag from playing in Korea is too much" before he started playing his NASL games.

It's kinda weird, last season the games where played 1-2 days before the broadcast so it was very hard to reschedule stuff. But with 3-4 weeks of time between the Matches and the Broadcast they should be able to reschedule matches to avoid no shows? I thought the delay was to prevent Walkovers.
With walkovers + games that are about a month old there is like no reason to turn in during group play for me :/ A bit sad that the situation became worse than s1, at least for me.
At least one can hope the offline/live final makes up for it again :/

Wow did not know the games were that outdated... I thought it was a few days at most. Wtf, that's pretty sad, does it really take that long to get their shit together? That kills a lot of the excitement for me, the meta game, players play/momentum and even patches can change a lot in a month. I don't go back and watch vods/replays from a month ago just for that very reason.. And if the matches are played weeks in advance you'd think they could use that huge buffer to reschedule a match so walkovers like tonight don't happen, or at least tell us before the broadcast if they've known this shit for weeks.

Boo the match I was super excited for Oh well, it happens, no point in my pouting. There will be more!

I think you also kind of miss the fact of most of the time the walkovers occur because there wasn't any preemptive notion to reschedule. One player obviously came to play, the other didn't show and didn't say anything beforehand to try to make an effort to reschedule. Not only is that extremely disrespectful to the league (and is a fine), it's EXTREMELY disrespectful to the player who waited 45 minutes only for you not to show up and essentially waste their time. I'm willing to assume players have the option to reschedule or receive the walkover win and 9 times out of 10 the player will take the walkover. Yes, recording early was to help IF there was a situation that two players couldn't make it one day and they agree on another day to do it (which happens quite a few times I bet, just no one notices, because as far as the viewer knows it was played on the scheduled date).
I think it's hard to argue that this is as large of an issue as it was last season when there were walkovers literally every other day due to the recording-to-broadcast turn-around constraint.

So glad I didn't stay up too watch last night, was thinking about it as due to the lure of DeMuslim vs HerO. Rather annoying they don't tell you beforehand, but they would lose alot of views. Rather disappointed in DeMuslim and EG for not making sure he could turn up, could of rescheduled it before hand maybe if he knew he wouldn't be able to.

Dissapointed Demuslim didnt play vs hero... Oh well Shit happens!!!!!
Hope they do say why though!!

Didn't expect CrunCher to beat Fenix, but happy that he did
